Abandon All Hope Ye Who Enter- Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri

Theatre Auditorium

Y/N POV

It was now evening and I was currently in a pretty empty theater watching a play about the Ancient Greek myth of Icarus and Daedalus, but something told me that this moment of calm and relaxation would be interrupted very soon.

Daedalus: Earth and water might impede our escape ... but the sky is free! Even here in the darkest depths, there remains a spark of hope.

Icarus: These are my wings?

Icarus walks forward a bit getting closer to the stage.

Icarus: With these wings ...

Icarus' tries to reach for the light in the front, that clearly represented the sun.

Icarus: ... can I fly freely in the sky?

Icarus' wings widen at the prospect of flying freely, at the idea of flying closer to the sun. But Daedalus was their to purge such thoughts from his mind.

Daedalus: Icarus, listen to me.

Daedalus walks towards Icarus and was going to give him his warning about not flying too close too the sun.

Daedalus: Freedom can addle the mind. Arrogance can lead to death. Even the birds exercise caution when they fly. Fly too close to the ocean, and the sea spray will weigh down your wings. But neither must you soar too high, for the sun will melt your wings made of wax.

All of a sudden Sae my teacher comes over and sits next to me, she doesn't say anything. She instead just watches the play with me, so I decided to verbalize my thoughts to her about theater room on this giant cruise ship we were on.

Y/N: This feels like a waste of taxpayer money.

Sae: A few days ago, a certain man contacted the school. ''Expel Kiyone and Y/N," he said.

Y/N: I wonder what that could mean.

All I did was keep my focus on the play as I found it more interesting than whatever Sae was talking too me about.

Y/N: I don't know who that person was, but you know you can't expel someone without a reason.

The actors then say their next lines in order to continue the narrative.

Icarus: I'll be okay. I can do it.

Daedalus: Icarus!

Sae: Naturally. So long as you're a student here, the rules will protect you. Of course, if you cause any trouble, that's another matter altogether.

Icarus: The sky is so close. Father, watch me!

Icarus is then seen flying on the stage with the biggest smile on his face, while doing this he was screaming out to his father to look at him.

Icarus: I'm flying ... Father, watch me! I'm flying! Look how small Crete has become!

Y/N: Sorry to inform you, but unlike the arrogant Icarus, I don't pick fights with the sun.

Sae: Your intentions aren't a factor. If I decide you're a problem, that's what you are.

She's threatening me? She's shown just how naive she is. I've already called her bluff, but I'll let her think she's got me backed into a corner.

Icarus: The sun is so close ...

Daedalus: Icarus! You must not get too close to the sun! Icarus!

Icarus: Oh, it's so beautiful.
