Chapter 5 - Reminiscing Death

1 year later

  "I've always wanted to ask you this question" Kiara said. "Is Kimba your father?"

  "That story is many years ago" Leo replied. "Kimba is not my father. It was Suda. Let me tell you a story"

The Story of Leo's Father, Suda

  Long ago in Panja's Pride there was a strong male lion named Suda. He strived his hardest to fight for Panja's Pride.

  Panja met this wonderful lioness named Nairobi. He mated her and gave birth to Kimba.

  A day after Kimba became a fighter Scar was fighting Panja and killed him.

  Scar is the brother of Mufasa. As Suda rose to become king, Kimba became the lion guard.

  After recieveing suspicious activity with Nairobi, Kimba made his exiling desicion.

  It was Nairobi who would be exiled. After a while, Scar attacked Suda and gave him a bleeding scar.

  Suda suffered badly and Mufasa watched over him and apologized to him every day.

  Suda forgave him and refused to exile him. Sarabi force mated with Suda but got in trouble.

Sarabi gave birth to me. 1 year later Suda died and Kimba became the new lion king.

  Mufasa was the lion guard and exiled Tokimuri for his decision. He also exiled Scar for the death of Suda.

  After Suda's death lions began to forget who he was.

  I was reminded by Mufasa to never forget him.

  "So who was Tokimuri?" Kiara asked. "Why was he exiled?"

  "Tokimuri was a fierce male lion who promised to fight for this pride to the very end" Leo replied. "There was a short supply of lions and Mufasa exiled him. He exiled Scar after because he forgot about him"

  "Why did Scar create a pride?" Kiara asked. "Scar created a pride in revenge of Mufasa exiling him" Leo said. "He took Nairobi in. Scar scared Kovu out of the territory. He asked Tokimuri to join but he refused and was killed for refusing. Nobody knows what happened to Kovu"

  "Maybe he died too" Kiara said. "You're probably right" Leo said. "Scar is good at killing lions on disguise but Tokimuri's body was revealed before Scar fed it to the crocodiles"

  "Are you guys talking about good old Kovu?" Slats asked.

  "Yes" Kiara said. "Is he still alive?" "No" Slats said. "Scar lied to him saying that Tokimuri drank water and fell in the river. Stupid Kovu thought he was still alive and checked the water. A crocodile pulled him in and took his life. That's why the prides don't live so close to the water"

  "I see" Leo said. "Well I hope we don't have to move to the water"

  "Yeah" Slats said. "The crocodiles would take our lives"

  Suddenly Kimba roared to announce a pride meeting. Every lion in the pride ran up to the meeting.

  Mufasa jumped on the rock. "Today we shall be grateful for my pride grows strong with a new fighter" Kimba said.

  "Stand up straight and tall, all of you" Mufasa said. "Oh Kiara please clean yourself" Telly said. "All pride lions must look their absolute best when it comes to a pride meeting"

  "Kiara please step up" Kimba said. The lioness nervously stood up on the right side of the rock.

  "Kiara you shall become a fighter of my pride" Kimba said. "Do you accept this position and promise to hunt and fight for this pride"

  "I do" Kiara said as she bowed her head in respect. "Then you shall become a true fighter of my pride" Kimba said.

  "Please exit the rock and go to the fighter den" Mufasa said. "Next time we have a meeting, you may attend"

  Kiara bowed her head in respect again and padded to the fighter den.

  The lioness admired the beauty of the den. The moss beds were extreamly soft and clean.

  There were no signs of eaten or rotting prey. There were no cobwebs anywhere.

   "We need to set up some routes to find extra prey since whitefall is coming" Kimba said.

  "Prey is preparing to leave" Mufasa said. "I need Slats, Bill and Jackie to go on my patrol for the current route"

  "And I need Telly, Coffee, Tanner, George and Kiara to take the new route" Kimba said. "Leo and Sarabi are expected to stay and guard the pride"

  "That's the most easiest job" Sarabi said. "I will defend the pride"

  "And so shall I" Leo said. "No lion will get hurt!" Bill and Coffee snickered.

  Leo growled a little bit. "Stop it Bill and Coffee" Kimba said. "It's not anything to make fun of anyone for"

  "Leave the meeting now! Both of you" Mufasa said. Bill and Coffee bowed their heads and padded to the fighter den.

  "Anything else Kimba?" Mufasa asked. "Maybe about the waging storm"

  "Ah yes" Kimba said. "A storm is brewing into Kenya and we need to keep our pride strong by staying in caves at all times"

  Everyone gasped. A destructive storm in Kenya? They noticed that the sky was covered in dark gray, plump clouds.

  The lions backed away. Kimba and Mufasa both looked up.

  "Pride dismissed" Kimba yelled. "Run to your dens now! Sarabi get Kiara to make sure no cubs are left behind"

  Raindrops fell on the lions very light and then heavy.

  The lions ran into the dens to stay dry and to protect themselves.

  There were no cubs to pick up and Kiara and Sarabi ran to the fighter den.

  Thunder stormed loudly and lightning striked but didn't set anything on fire.

  About twenty minutes later the short lived storm passed.

  "I know sooner or later that the storm will return" Kimba said. "We need to find a new location when the next one comes"

  "I agree but it may take too long" Mufasa said. "Our pride needs to grow strong but not to make a perilous jouney. Besides where will we go?"

  "Egypt" Kimba said. "I've got the whole journey planned out.

  "That was where the legendary Cleopatra was" Mufasa said.

  "We don't speak of that" Kimba said. "Everyone the storm is over! You're safe now"
