Aurora was finally calm after the Aspen incident. Lori couldn't stop smirking when she saw Aurora couldn't stop blushing the whole time. Yes, she was nervous at first, but that was because she feared Aspen would hurt her friend. Aspen was not that kind of person. He had a secret he didn't want everyone to know.
Aurora searched through the books until she came to a topic of legends and myths. Lori was sitting by the table, waiting for Aurora to come back to her and sit with her. She put the book on the table in front of their noses.
Lori read it aloud. "Legends and Myths?" She looked at her questioningly. "What are you looking for in there?"
Aurora opened the book and looked at the contents, a list of chapters in the book. "I'm looking for shapeshifters or just shifters."
Lori looked interested and helped Aurora find the chapter that she was looking for. After they got to the chapter, they began to read together. There was a lot about shapeshifters, but then Aurora came across the title she was looking for. About wolf-shifters. But wait, that was like in Twilight, where Jacob can turn into a wolf whenever he wants. Aurora read on under the title of wolf-shifters. What the book said was that in the wilderness where Aurora's school was, people believed there had been wolf-shifters around since the times of the Indians. There were stories around about people howling like wolves when the moon was full and round in the sky. Wolf shifters do everything to protect their identity as humans. They can wander around day and night like wolves if they want to, but be careful. They can be aggressive if it is necessary to protect themselves.
Aurora was impressed. They had been around since the times of the Indians long ago, so they were good at hiding to protect their identity. She was lost in the book as she began to think and remember the shooting incident in her school, where she was saved by a wolf, as the police officer said. But was it an ordinary, normal wild wolf that broke in? No, Aurora didn't believe anything about it being an ordinary wolf. It had to be a wolf-shifter!
Aurora woke up and looked at Lori. "I'll borrow the book."

It was getting darker and school was done for the day. Aurora and Lori said goodbye to each other before going separately. Lori rode her bike home. It was a seasonal winter, so it was normal for it to get dark quickly, but it could also be dangerous. Aurora said she would come home on foot after she sent a message to her parents. The book she borrowed was safely in her backpack and she immediately took off. If only she had a bike... Lori was actually quite scared to leave before dark, so that's why she quickly said goodbye to Aurora. The girl even watched as she quickly biked home to where she lived. Fortunately, there was no snow or ice, so it was safe.
Aurora was normally careful, especially when it got dark, but this time she was in her dreamland since she couldn't stop thinking about the wolf shifters. She was not quite alert until a white van drove right by her. You should always stay away from vehicles like that because they can't be trusted, but then the car opened and a man in a mask put a bag over Aurora's head and that was when she was alert. She was startled and immediately she knew she was in danger. She began to struggle and yell, but it was impossible because the man was too strong, and also because she had a bag over her head. That was when the man hit her head so hard that she fainted.

She groaned as she began to wake up. When she opened her eyes, she saw that she no longer had the bag over her head. She blinked a few times before she stopped and sat up. It was really dark now and she noticed she was no longer in town. Where was she? She noticed her backpack had been stolen when she looked around! They were thieves! Luckily, she still had her cell phone in her pocket but when she looked closely, she realized it was broken. She became angry. Why hadn't she struggled harder to free herself?
She gasped in shock when she heard it. A howl of a wolf. She immediately looked at the sky and saw a full round moon. So that's why she heard it. She had to get herself out of there. Her parents were definitely worried. But how? It was a forest! She looked around and had a hard time looking. It was like again, like out of horror but this time like out of Slenderman.
Aurora then saw something in the distance. It was glowing eyes. She took a step back because she felt scared and then she turned and started to run. Again, she felt so scared, just like how she hid from the perpetrator in her school during the shooting. The glowing eyes followed her quickly.
