A week had passed since Aurora and Aspen met. Aspen's group and the girl pretended not to know each other at school but they often made eye contact when they met. Jake knew all about it since he was there when he caught Aurora spying. Aurora wanted to forget about it, but she couldn't. It was as if there would forever be a connection in her soul.

Aurora was now at home presently while her parents were away. Bill and Carly haven't gone on a date in a while, so that's why they decided to go on a date today at a restaurant while they trusted Aurora to watch over the house. Aurora had always been a feisty girl since she started school, but when she became a teenager, she had turned that a little bit.

She was busy washing and drying some dishes. Her parents asked her to help a little with this chore. Fortunately, this was not heavy work for her, since there are heavy chores around the house, but not everyone thought so. Aurora from when she was little never opened the door to strangers. That rule she strictly followed.

applied to herself and fortunately, she was never bothered, even on the street when she was outside.

But then she heard a knock at the door and heard a voice, "This is the police."

Aurora was startled and almost dropped the plate on the floor. Fortunately, it didn't break, and she carefully put the plate down in the wash. She quickly dried her hands and went to the front door. She looked through a small hole to see if it really was the police and, indeed, it was the police. It startled her again and quickly unlocked the door and opened it. There stood a man and a woman who both looked sadly at her as if they had bad news. This made Aurora uneasy as she looked at the officers.

"Are you Aurora Forest?"

"I am. What's going on?"

The agents looked at each other and nodded. Then the sad news came out that Aurora had not expected. Her parents were found dead in the forest after a phone call came in from a young guy who found the bodies while hiking. Aurora had no words and felt her heart go into a million convulsions. "T-This can't be true, can it?"

"I'm sorry, but we're telling the truth," said the woman, who kept looking sadly at her.

Aurora shook her head gently and tears formed in her eyes until they rolled down. Then she screamed loudly and clearly to the world "No!" Never before had she felt such tremendous pain in her heart and even in her whole body. She trembled with coldness and pain until the female agent gently placed her hand on Aurora's shoulder. The girl looked up at her.

"You need to come with me to the police station."

Aurora didn't want to talk to anyone, not even the officers. She wants to be with her parents and stay in their arms, but she won't feel that for long. She believed in life after death, but her time is far from here. The female agent came in with some documents and placed them on the table. Aurora observed the woman with some questions in her mind. How had her parents been killed? Had someone scared them?

"Aurora, I know this is hard for you. But you need to know this truth. Are you prepared for it?" The voice of the female agent sounded sweet, kind, full of respect, and warm. That's what Aurora needed. She nodded gently and looked at her prepared.

The truth was heavier than she had thought. After her parents' date, they decided to take a quick walk in the woods and follow the path that led in a large circle, but then they were attacked by a group of wolves. The police found marks on the bodies and even the hair fur of the wolves. One was pitch black and others were unknown. Hours later, the young fellow found the bodies and contacted the police.

To her ears, Aurora couldn't believe what she was hearing. It was The Wolf Killers who had killed her parents! The girl wanted to look for Aspen immediately, but where would he be? She didn't even know where he lived! But he was also a wolf. Does Aspen know that they were her parents or not yet?

After some questions from the police, Aurora answered with the truth. Fortunately, it didn't take long before the session was done and Aurora was allowed to go. After both women stood up from the chairs, Aurora looked at the officer as he asked about her, "Do you need a ride? You don't live far but we are asking you not to go into the woods until we are sure it is safe."

Aurora shook her head no. "No, thank you. I need to cool my head. It's always a shock to me."

The woman gave her a warm smile. "Take your time. We understand. Have a nice evening."

That was when Aurora fake smiled at her. Thanks, but it's not a fine evening for me, she thought to herself.
