- You Reap What You Woe -
1x5

The feast isn't anything too special to Vada. She sits boredly beside her father, eating a roll as everyone practically yells with their parents and such, telling them all about their time at Nevermore.

Lucifer is half done with his first platter of food. "Are you okay, little demon?" He asks his daughter, eating his roll.

"I'm fine. I just know Enid will be upset later and Wednesday will sulk." Vada explains softly and looks at her father before looking away.

"And that is your problem?" Lucifer asks.

"Well.. Kinda. I'm always there for them." Vada responds calmly and looks at him. "They're my roommates. I have to be there for them."

Lucifer shrugs simply. "I don't see the point. After you graduate, you won't see another human soul unless they're in hell."

"Have you ever asked me what I would like to do, father?" Vada asks calmly, looking at him. "My dream job?"

"No. I already know you wish to rule hell." Lucifer smiles softly and eats another roll in victory of his answer.

"I want to be a forensic scientist, Dad. Did you know that?" Vada asks, looking up at him. Lucifer goes silent and looks down a little.

Vada scoffs and stands up, walking off right into Sheriff Galpin.

"Watch it, Morningstar." He grumbled and walked right to Gomez Addams. "Gomez Addams, you're under arrest for the murder of Garrett Gates." He puts cuffs on Wednesday's father.

Vada stares as this happens, walking towards Wednesday as the family is watching Gomez be taken off.

"Dad?" Pugsley asks, frowning worriedly at his father. Morticia is silent, her eyes wide but showing little to no emotion. Wednesday furrows her brows and turns to her mother whom now has tears in her eyes.

Vada makes it to Wednesday. "We are going to get him out." She promises quietly. Wednesday doesn't show it but Vada can tell she is upset to have this happen in front of everyone. The girl blinks and walks away to their dorm.

"Vada, I caught my mother laying a rose at Garrett Gates' grave this morning. The very boy my father is arrested for killing." Wednesday explains.

Vada follows behind the girl and looks at her. "Yeah, that's definitely weird." She nods in agreement.

"I need to go visit him." Wednesday informs, putting her jacket on.

Vada nods. "I can tell Weems so she doesn't think you went off the rails."

"I need you to come with me. I plan to talk to Sheriff Galpin and I need my partner." Wednesday says.

Vada smiles slightly. "Anything for you, Wens." She puts on her jacket and heads out with her.

The walk to Jericho isn't long but the silent makes it last forever. Vada stays outside of the jail while Wednesday visits her father. It isn't her business to know their past. Gomez seems like an honest man.

"What kind of trouble are you in now?" A boy asks and Vada's head whips up quickly when she realizes she recognizes it.

A blush rises to her cheeks as she sees Tyler standing there in some jeans and a hoodie. He doesn't seem to have to work today. "Tyler.."

"Hey." Tyler smiles and glances towards the jail before looking at Vada. "Should I be worried?"

"Oh, no. I'm just waiting for a friend to finish up visiting someone. Not for me." Vada smiles slightly. "Although the feeling of a jail cell is comforting sometimes."

"Right.. I heard my dad arrested Gomez Addams.. is Wednesday alright?" He asks, putting his hands in his pockets as he talks to her.

"Yeah, I think so. We just have to find out if he really deserves to be in there. Her and her family seem kind of torn up about it in their own way. I just want to help them."

"That's admirable." Tyler admits and smiles at her. "I uh... I was gonna ask you if you wanted to maybe go out sometimes soon? I'm off on Monday, if that works for you? It could be after your classes."

"We don't have classes Monday. It's a tradition after Parents' Weekend. Mostly for the students to work on their insanity after two days of being around their family nonstop." Vada informs.

"Oh, good to know." Tyler chuckles and looks at her. "So I'll call you later? We can talk about it then? I gotta get to my therapy appointment."

"Sure." Vada smiles before seeing Wednesday walk out. "I have to go too."

Tyler smiles and leans down, pecking her lips before he heads down the sidewalk to Dr Kinbott's office.

Wednesday pauses. "So you two are an item now?" She questions.

"Are you and Enid an item?" Vada returns, knowing the topic will be changed once she does. Wednesday looks away and walks into the Sheriff's office.

"We need to talk." She says to Galpin.

Vada smiles and follows her into the office, standing patiently.

"How did you get in here- Bernice! Bernice?" Sheriff Galpin looks through the blinds of the office window to look for the desk woman.

"Bernice might've gotten a call about her tabby cat, Swiftie, being held for ransom." Wednesday informs. "My father did not kill Garrett Gates."

"Well, I have his signed confession." Galpin responds calmly. "And he identified the saber he used to do it. Both of which i'm about to deliver to the District Attorney."

"Don't you find the timing convenient?" Vada asks. "I read the papers, the coroner killed himself over a decades old murder case the very weekend that Gomez Addams, your prime suspect, comes back to town."

"All I see is a guilty man whose finally going to pay for his crime." Galpin responds, sipping his coffee.

Wednesday rolls her eyes, clenching her fists as this man isn't listening to her nor taking her serious. Vada can see this.

"And cuffing him, myself? Oh, that was the icing on the cake." Galpin grins.

"Alright. We're done being the nice little girls that ask for permission over forgiveness." Vada snaps and steps in front of Wednesday.

"Someone is setting Gomez up to derail us from finding this monster! You, are too much of a brainless little worm to realize it because you set your mind on someone years ago and you don't like that Wednesday is going to Nevermore or that i'm around your son so you're trying to ruin anything you can to remain your little self-centered self." Vada snaps.

The man slowly puts down his coffee mug and looks at Vada. "This may come as a shock to you, girls. But the world doesn't revolve around you two."

"Oh! Real original, old man! So tell me, who does it revolve around? Huh? Cause last I checked, everyone's answer is different and if you ask 99% of parents, they will say their child. Does your world revolve around Tyler?" Vada asks, glaring with red glowing eyes.

Galpin goes silent and looks away. "I want you both out. Now!" He snaps. "I will not sit here and be disrespected by two teenage girls! Garrett Gates' family deserves closure even if they aren't around to feel it."

"What happened to them?" Wednesday asks. Vada takes a step away from the desk, clenching her fists to control her anger. The Sheriff tends to get under her skin worse than her own father.

"His mother hung herself in the backyard. His father drank himself to an early grave. Even his little sister didn't escape. She was orphaned, sent overseas and ended up drowning. All of them are gone."

Wednesday stares at him.

Galpin leans back in his chair, sighing. "Your father doesn't just have Garrett's blood on his hands, he's got the whole damn family's."
