(Dee pov)

The bell rang and everyone got up to leave. Me, Jess and Nolan were the only people left in the class as Nolan hadn't put his stuff away before the bell rang and was now struggling to get his laptop back into his book bag. He'd pulled it out earlier to pretend to be working on stuff so the teacher would stop yelling at him.

"Nolannn, hurry uppp" Jess said annoyed.

"Sorryyyy" Nolan said back, still fighting with his book bag.

"Gimmie that.." Jess said grabbing his laptop and walking out the door. Nolan quickly zipped up his bag and ran after her, me not too far behind.

We walked into a big carpeted room with couches and tables and chairs and books. Nolan immediately turned to the right and walked over to where Jess was. She was sitting at a table beside a window with Nolan's laptop. I quickly followed behind him and we both sat down opposite to Jess.

Nolan grabbed his laptop and shoved it into his bag, throwing his bag on the floor.

"See, that wasn't so difficult." Jess said, refering to his earlier struggles with his bag.

"Oh hush." Nolan responded looking at his phone and turning in a way so that we couldn't see what he was looking at.

A tall guy with black hair dressed in beat up clothes walked over.

"Hey babe." He said to Jess leaning on her.

"Hey Darian." She said happily. Nolan looked up upon hearing this and waved at him. He quickly waved back and went back to leaning on Jess.

"This is my boyfriend Darian." Jess said. "Darian this is Dee, one of the new students." She continued.

"Nice to meet you, Dee." Darian said.

"You too, Darian." I responded politely.

Darian held up his fist in Nolan's direction but Nolan didn't seem to notice so he tapped him. "Huh..?" Nolan said as he looked up. Darian made a fist again and after some thinking Nolan fist bumped him. It looked as though he wasn't sure what was going on but once he figured it out he was smiling. After some talking Nolan went back to reading and Jess started drawing on Darian with one of Nolan's pens. I decided to message Heavy and see what he was doing.

I guess Anthony must be Abi's boyfriend..I thought as I remembered her talking about a boyfriend earlier.

Nolan kicked my chair and I looked over at him,"what?" He made a confused face at me before looking back at his phone. "Why did you kick my chair?" I asked again, this time more clearly. "Dunno, felt like it, sorry.." he said still looking at his phone. Man this guy is confusing, sometimes he's nice, sometimes he's loud, sometimes he's quite, sometimes he talks a lot and other times he doesn't.. I want to know more about him I thought staring at him for a second before going on my phone and reading.

Suddenly some short feminine looking person walks over and shoves Darian. They start talking to Jess as she looks uncomfortable. I noticed Nolan pull his legs to his chest and his face closer to his phone when the person came over. His breathing seemed more ragged too.

"Hey I'm Bug" the person said in an obnoxious voice, holding out their hand. I decided not to shake it. "I'm Dee." I said blankly. "What has that bastard already convinced you that I'm a dick? Do you think you're too good to shake my hand!?" He started yelling accusingly at me.

Nolan got up quickly and shakily grabbing his stuff and speed walking out of the room.

"Tch, that bitch is finally gone." Bug said rudely.

I got up and went after Nolan. I found him sitting with Ant, Abi and Heavy on the first floor by the stairs. He was curled up facing away from everyone. Abi and Heavy trying to comfort him while Ant stood there awkwardly. I walked down the stairs and over to them.

"What's going on?" I asked to no one in particular.

"He said something about Bug so I'd assume he was bothering him again." Anthony said.

I guess I was right not to care much for my interaction with Bug, he's probably not going to be worth my time. I wasn't good with emotions like how Heavy is so I just stood over to the side with Ant.

About a minute later Jess and Darian came down the stairs and Darian leaned against the stairs and Jess walked over to Nolan and hugged him. He cried into her as she held him and kisses his head. After a few minutes Nolan calmed down and was just holding onto Jess.

"Are you going to be okay?" Jess asked him quietly. He nodded his head saying, "I think I'll be okay.." his voice still cracking a bit.

The bell rang and everyone grabbed their stuff and went off to class. Jess and Darian walked off to class before Nolan could get his stuff so it was just me and him at the bottom of the stairs. He collected his stuff and stood up.

"Sorry.." he whispered to me.

"Why are you sorry?" I said back gently.

"I don't know..." He responded. And started walked back up the stairs to our next class. I followed behind him. We got half way up the stairs and he started talking again.

"Can I hold your hand..? Uh..sorry..." He said quietly to me. Normally I wouldn't do this but I felt bad for him and figured it'd help so I grabbed his hand.

"Thank you, Dee." He said, giving me a quick smile and lightly squeezing my hand. I gave him a small smile in return as he pulled me to our next class.
