"Okay, as you all know, as national champions we get to host the Annual Show Choir Rules Committee meeting."

The returning members had a lot to say about this immediately. "Please tell me you're gonna ask them what ⅓ vintage meant last year?"

"Yeah, or like why some teams get to sing six songs and others only do one."

"Speaking of competitions, shouldn't we start, like, preparing for ours?" Jake chimed in.

"I have some ideas which I am working on very hard." Mr. Schue assured us. The blank expression on his face told us otherwise.

"Excuse me." Brittany raised her hand.

"Yes, go ahead."

"I'm not sure if what you were saying was actually important cause I wasn't listening, but I'd like to make an announcement. First, I'd like to know if anyone can prove that Blaine was actually born in this country. Second, I'm wrapping up the election by selecting Artie as my running mate."

"Ah, all right." Schuester applauded lightly.

"I think by bridging the human/robot divide, we'll ensure that students and vending machines will be voting for us."

"Still not a robot." Artie chimed in.

"Brittany, that's not fair. This isn't a popularity contest, it's about who's got the best ideas." Blaine whined. "It's about believing who can make a change, right?"

"What is that taste in my mouth?" Artie rhetorically questioned. "Is that sour grape?" The bell rang, dismissing the glee club. Marley and I left together, discussing our plans for tonight.

"You still down to go to the movies tonight?" I asked her.

"Definitely. I wouldn't miss seeing Pitch Perfect." Marley smiled widely.

"I'll see you after geometry." I saluted her before turning around, running right into Jake. "Shit, my bad."

"No, it's okay. I wanted to talk to you."

"Yeah, about what?"

"About Marley."

"What about her?" I crossed my arms over my chest.

"Look, I don't want any problems. I know you're into her, and I am too, I-I guess what I'm trying to say is..." He hesitated to finish his sentence. "May the best man...or woman win."

"That was a really weird way of saying that, but thanks...I guess."

"No problem." We awkwardly fist bumped before going our separate ways.

"So, who are you gonna vote for in this election?" I asked Marley as I walked her home.

"I think Blaine. Since, you know, he has actual ideas. What about you?"

"Well, Santana would kill me if I didn't vote for her girlfriend, so I guess I'm voting for Brittany."

We walked in a comfortable silence for another minute before reaching Marley's house. "Well, this is me."

"I had a lot of fun." I smiled cheekily at her.

"Yeah me too." There was a moment. A singular moment where I thought something could happen. But the moment passed as quickly as it came, and next thing I knew, we were saying our goodbyes. "Bye Bella."

"Bye Marley."
