Ashley

I toss my bag onto the coffee table and sigh as I plop down onto the couch.

I know running your own business was supposed to have its challenges but the people pleasing is becoming too much.

My clientele are getting more popular which means more extravagant events. Just last week I had to figure out how I was going to get a dolphin into a 3 year olds birthday party. It's not as easy as you'd think.

"Hey. You're home late."

A smile breaks onto my face as Sam leans over the back of the couch to kiss my neck.

"Sorry. I had a lot of catching up to do."

She nods before littering my neck and shoulders with kisses.

This is what I love about her. Always showering me with affection. No matter how stressful my day is, it all goes away as soon as I hear her voice.

"How about a bath Hm?" I nod and giggle when she kisses my cheek.

She leads me to the bathroom and I begin to undress as she starts the bath for me.

"Are the kids in bed already?" She nods.

"They wanted to wait up for you, but I told them you'd see them in the morning."

I frown a little as I contemplate checking in on them. I've been so busy that I haven't gotten to spend much time with them at all. It's summer break so Sam has thankfully be home most of the time but that's no excuse for me not making a little bit of time for them.

"Maybe I should..."

"No ash. You need to relax." She softly cups my chin and slide a hand on my bare hip as she presses me against the counter.

Her warm rough hands sending shivers through my body.

"I miss them. I miss you too. I feel like I'm never home. Maybe I'm doing too much..." she shushes me and places a kiss on my forehead.

"We are fine love. You have a lot of big projects going on right now, I get that. When you're all done, we will be right here for you, okay?" I nod my head, tears threatening to escape my eyes.

"Join me?" She smiles and nods before removing her shirt. Her big strong arms on full display. I softly trail a finger along the tattoos on her arms. She is so fine.

She chuckles and softly kisses me on the lips, breaking me from my trance.

"Cmon baby."

God i love when she calls me that.

The next day is my day off.

I made breakfast for everyone and the kids convinced me to help them make a fort in the living room.

They were so excited that they wore themselves out and fell asleep under the covers while I was getting us some juice.

After laying them down, I start to think about Paige.

These are her babies and I know that she would be happy to know that they're doing well but am I doing enough?

"Something on your mind?"

Sam slides her arms around me from behind and i feel my worries melt away as she nuzzles her nose into my neck.

"Just thinking about some things." I look back at her and she raises an eyebrow.

"Wanna talk about it?"

I shrug and we both look towards the door when we hear a knock.

"Hm. Right on time." I give her a confused look as she goes to open the door.

"Hey girl! I've missed you!"

My eyes widen as Sarah wraps me into a hug.

"Sarah? What are you doing here?"

"I called her."

I look over towards sam and blush when I see her holding a basket.

"I'm going to watch the kids so you two can have some alone time. Don't worry about anything. I gotcha!"

Stunned would be an understatement. I had no idea she was planning this but it's so like her.

"Here's your coat." Sam eases my favorite coat over my shoulders before sarah ushers us out the door.

Sam takes my hand and we walk right past her car onto the sidewalk.

"And where are you taking me?"

I wrap my arms around hers as she smiles down at me.

"Just thought you could use some fresh air." I raise an eyebrow at her and before I know it,we're by the pond we found happy at.

It's just as pretty here as I remember. There are even a few ducks swimming that remind me of the ones I saw years ago.

Sam kisses my hand and lays a blanket down next to a tree. Once she has things set up,she sits against the tree and pulls me down so I'm sitting between her legs with my back to her.

"Alright now just, take a deep breath and relax for me love."

I smile as I relax back against her. The sound of the birds and the slight splash of the water instantly bringing me peace.

"You're so sweet."

She kisses my cheek, her fingers gently caressing the bare skin under my shirt as her arms wrap around me.

"I know you've Been working hard. I'm so proud of how far you've come and everything you've accomplished. You're living your dream ash. I know it gets overwhelming and you feel an obligation to me and the kids but, dont let that stop you."

She gently grabs my chin and turns me towards her so that I can see her eyes. Those gorgeous warm eyes that make my knees buckle everytime.

"I love you. I want you to experience everything your heart desires. You always tell me everything is fine but you were my friend before all of this love. I know you."

A tear slides down my cheek and she softly brushes it away before kissing my lips.

"I just...I start to worry is all. I start thinking about Paige and what she would be doing. Definitely more than me. I work so much that I'm hardly home. The kids need more than that. You do too."

To my surprise,she smiles.

"You are such a beautiful person."

I blush and playfully push her face away.

"Ugh quit it."

She laughs before grabbing my hand and kissing it.

"I thought that's what was bothering you. You don't have to be like Paige love. Just be you, that's all we want. You being away sometimes doesn't change our love for you one bit. It just makes the time we get with you that much more special."

The tears are pouring now.

How did I find such a perfect person? A perfect family?

She is the best thing that ever happened to me and as long as she believes in me, I'll believe in myself.

I wipe my eyes as I groan.

"What's with you making me cry every time we come here huh?"

She laughs and kisses the top of my head.

"I don't intend to I promise. I just want you to know that you're loved."

I smile and turn around so that I'm facing her.

"Thank you,for loving me."
