Late to class

Usually people don't just pop up in the middle of the year. It was always troublesome to switch schools, from pulling over grades to the whole social aspect of leaving your comfortable space. A space that took time to create, only to be uprooted for whatever reason had cast her off.

The reason? Nobody knew, nobody cared. To most she was just another student, an unfamiliar face that would settle sooner or later. The fifth year. Yeah, the actual system when it came to which year you were in was fairly obtuse and unclear, but whatever the case she was sixteen years of age, her birthday having been not too long ago. She was young, perhaps even the youngest of her class at that.

Brown locks of hair flowed warily downwards, stopping near her upper back in unclear patterns. It was strange, but at the same time oddly charming despite it's wild attitude. One of her more notable features had to be those eyes, golden yellow hues that really set her apart from the general crowd. She had been complimented about them plentiful in her life, even having done a photo shoot of sorts a year back. Her choice of clothing was pretty loose. A skirt and blouse, the later being made of rather loose fabric. Of course, that wasn't all, she too had a shirt and undergarments underneath it. It seemed to fit pretty perfectly around her figure. She was slim, a small girl petite in every which way, including of course the bust size. It was meager, perhaps even disappointing as she'd have stated towards herself in the past. With age it'd come, she'd grow up and everything would sort itself out.

But why do the other girls have so much larger...?

"Unfair."

She muttered, her radiant golden eyes shimmering lightly as she cast her gaze through the classroom. It was too early, her mind too tired to deal with the current goings about of the actual class. Geology. She actually had to glimpse towards her booklet to confirm that one. The teacher, a stern woman in her forties with short brown hair and... well, aged features stood in front of the class, explaining and educating about air flows or something. It was boring to say the least and it was at times like these that she regretted her inability to supply herself of coffee in the mornings. Alice was too lazy to make her own coffee.

The door opened, the teacher momentarily shutting up as another person became present in the already plentiful filled classroom. Promptly afterwards the girl moved in, her blond hair swaying lightly through her movements while she headed straight towards the teacher. The girl had been wearing something a little sloppy, if anything, jeans and a black tank top of sorts being visible. It was simple, yet Alice liked how it looked. The dark colors of the darker shade of blue with the charcoal top somehow just made that blonde hair of her stand out that little more. She was more muscular than Alice, more fit, but then again, that wasn't really all that impressive considering how Alice was build.

The teacher continued her speech after obtaining the blue colored note from the girl, said girl afterwards kind of just glancing through the classroom. Alice had been seated in the back of course, alone at a table of two. Really she had taken one of the better spots, a spot from which she could laze and not pay attention without having to face the consequences. Well, her grades would be facing the consequences, but that was a worry for later and later only. Right now all she was going to worry about was her own tiredness and the topic of her chest size...

And of course the impending arrival of the blond haired girl at her set of two tables.

Alice stared. Yeah, she just stared at the girl as she approached her table and pretty much claimed the one that was attached besides it. Well... it made sense. The rest of the classroom seemed pretty packed and besides that... her spot was really just that great. The blond haired girl had even gone ahead and unpacked her bag, leaning backwards on her seat ever so slightly. It took her a few moments, but eventually she noticed the rather... disorientated little stare of Alice.

"Something wrong?"

Her words were of course a little toned down, taking in accounted the teacher who was still elaborately lecturing the class about mountains or something. Alice blinked, confusion settling into her mind before she quite frankly realized how stupid her blank stare must have been, shaking her head slightly before averting her attention away from the person.

"O- Oh, it's nothing."

Only a light stutter, but a stutter non the less.

"Mkay."

The blond haired girl mused, easily disregarding the topic. Alice was glad in all honesty, for some reason much more nervous than she probably should have been. She couldn't tell what it had been but... Well, it had been present regardless, much to Alice's dismay.

The both of them remained pretty much quiet for the rest of class, only exchanging a bare minimum of words, most regarding a damn pencil of all things. Still Alice was kind of glad at the girl's presence, strangely enough. She had been on her lonesome during most of the classes and even with the minimal contact they had it felt much more nice to have someone besides you. The silence was a comfortable one, but like most good things eventually it came to a stop.

"Hey,"

The blonde haired girl spoke once more, halfway done with stuffing her booklets back into her bag. Alice turned towards her, previously having been lazing over the table with a pencil in one hand writing absolutely nothing. It was strange, because as she turned to look the girl seemed to just completely focus onto Alice, staring directly into her eyes in an almost intimate manner. Alice was taken aback, completely silenced and confused by the gesture, yet unable to directly move away those yellowy hues of her's.

"So they are."

The girl's mumblings were a little offsetting towards Alice, bewilderment within her next set of words.

"What are you...?"

At this point she had nervously managed to avert her gaze, almost timidly so as eye contact over such a prolonged duration just felt incredibly awkward to the girl. She didn't even know this person when it came down to it. But she had blue eyes, a darker colored variant and Alice had taken note of this.

"They're pretty cool, you know. Those eyes."

Once more Alice seemed out of it, taking an extra moment to register the compliment in her mind, still a little stricken with disbelief and bewilderment.

"They are..."

Her state of mind transferred directly into her words, though they were more soft spoken. It wasn't a topic she had been unfamiliar with, people tended to take interest in her bright colored eyes.

"So are they actually legit or are you just wearing lenses?"

Alice actually felt her heart sink a little at those words.

"They're natural... I- I'm not wearing lenses."

The way Alice spoke almost made it seem like she was offended, while in reality she was just really disheartened that someone would even insist such a thing. Admittedly people had claimed such things in the past, though for some reason the words of the blonde haired girl just hit that much harder.

"Alright. Was just wondering, that's all."

The bell went off, a loud buzz that sounded loudly throughout the building. The class started to empty, the blonde haired girl too starting to leave while Alice remained seated there, partially in disbelief. She was probably overreacting, but the bold attitude that the girl had displayed simply left her a little abazed.

"Alice?"

It was the teacher, the woman already having started to gather her things and preparing to leave. And Alice was still there, on her own with all her disorganized possessions sprawled over the table.

"O- Oh- right. Sorry Miss."

She hurriedly got her things together and left the classroom, opting to not waste anymore time on the topic of the crude girl. Her eyes weren't fake, they were 'legit' as the girl would have said. She wasn't someone who would wear lenses to hog attention, quite the opposite even. Alice didn't seek attention.

A sigh escaped her. She had acquired attention regardless.
