Chapter twenty five

"start talking right now!"my dad yelled

"we don't even know what happened chill out"

"don't tell me to chill the fuck out kayla i got my kids in this house my wife was all put in danger. i saw you at that anniversary party. you and alex do i need to pay him a visit since you won't talk!"he yelled again come on now it's late and we live in a rich neighborhood

"stop yelling at her"my mom said coming down the stairs and instantly pulling me into a hug "oh honey are you hurt"she examined my face and body

"no mom stop"i tried getting out of her grip

"kayla your my only daughter i would lose my mind if something happened to you"

she pulled prince in a hug with her free arm

"i'm calling alex none of you are to leave this house"my dad said

hours pasted prince went to sleep and tera and roc are in the next room. i don't know about them but i couldn't sleep for shit. i had a case of jack daniels thought it was gonna work but it didnt i couldn't stop thinking about it im still on the first bottle thank god her car is bullet proof and no one got hurt but still my dad my ass once again and the fact he wanted to call alex like he was the first one he thought of makes me think they still have something going on

i heard foot steps in the hall i could tell it was my mom. she opened the door and peeked inside

"i knew you were awake"she said sitting next to me

"i had a talk with your father. im sorry i shut you out. i was just tryin my best to look out for us i want the best for you . i didn't properly raise you but you did a great job in doing it yourself"

"is that supposed to be an apology"i rolled my eyes taking a sip from the bottle

"look i know i messed up as your mom. all i'm asking for is another chance. like how we used to be. this mother thing is hard your older now i want that bond back and i know you do too. your growing up and i see that all i'm asking is to be apart of it don't think of it as mother and daughter think of it as best friends" she smiled at me we locked eyes for a while

she did fail me as a mother. when i got my first period princes mom was there for me. with the heating pads and pain meds she filled in where my mom wasn't. she even came to my first show and was always there to tell me to stay in school and follow my dreams. my father sees me as a bad person i'll give it to him but my mother is trying i'll give her that. i twisted the cap off and passed it to her

"can i ask you something" i said as i watched her drank from the bottle

"sure"

"if maddie is younger than me and jayce is older how old is the other daughter"

"her name is hope and she's twelve"

"what happened with you two weren't you happy"

"me and your father have been on and off for years. my trust issues got in the way of us actually being happy. he cheated and gaslighted me the first time we dated. then one day he changed. he actually wanted us to be happy i couldn't see it at first but when i did i gave my all to him and we started a family. what i didn't know was he had a whole other family. when you love someone it make you blind to everything. but sometimes it's a good thing. kayla i love your father it may take years for you to get it right but when you do love is the best feeling."

i finished my bottle just as she was finishing hers

"i can tell jacob loves you don't push him away. what you and alex had was nothing but the lust for sex you weren't meant for each other. y'all fought a lot and sex was the only answer. show jacob your all bout him before it's too late"
