I flinched as Jean wiped the blood from my wrist. He dabbed at the cuts where Floch's nails had pierced my skin. He was still really angry, I could tell, but he was gentle with me so that he wouldn't hurt me. I adored this side of him. The kind, caring Jean who put others first. The side of him who took me on beach dates and cooked food for me. Don't get me wrong, I also like his strong masculine side but his caring side was just so adorable.

Jean wiped all of the blood and cleaned all my cuts. He began to unroll the bandage and wrap it around my wrist. I winced as my arm stung in pain.

"I'm sorry love. I know it hurts but this is for the best".

"Everything's good Jeany. I can deal with the pain because you're doing such a good job".

He blushed a little at my comment. I could tell he wanted to say something. He just put his head down and continued wrapping the bandage around my wrist. I knew what he was going to say. He was going to ask me about Floch and my past. Time to prepare myself I guess. I waited for him to finish bandaging my arm before asking. He gently tied the end to secure it.

"Thank you"

"It's okay. I'm just glad you're safe Y/N"

"Jean. If there's something you want to say you can say it"

He looked at me and sighed. He was holding back. I know he was.

"What did he say to you Y/N? What awful names did he call you?"

I felt myself getting a bit emotional. Bumping into Floch had really shaken me up. Jean placed a hand on my thigh and gently rubbed it in circles to try and calm me down.

"I'll tell you everything Jean"

I slowly went through the events of the night and described them all to Jean. I told him every last detail of what Floch said and did and what I said and did. I knew it would mean having to talk about my past with Floch but that didn't matter. The truth was important. As I told Jean everything i could see him get emotional too. His eyes looked like they were tearing up a bit. I finished telling him everything and he pulled me into a tight hug.

"You're brave Y/N! You should know that. I'm sorry that happened and I'm sorry I wasn't there earlier. If I was there with you then maybe this wouldn't have happened. I'm sorry love. I really am!" He said, muffled by my shoulder.

"Jean. Look at me"

He pulled away from my shoulder and looked up at me. He was still knelt on the floor like he was when wrapping my wrist. I looked at him straight in the eyes and I placed one hand on either side of his face. I tucked some of his hair behind his ear and smiled at him. He looked sad but he smiled back.

"Jean. You did everything you could. I'm super grateful for that! I would have had to talk to Floch again at some point so at least it's out of the way now. And look! You made my wrist feel better too. All because you care about me and put in the effort to make sure I'm safe and looked after. Thank you Jean. I really really mean it!"
