two ethnicities entrapped in my body like peanut butter and jelly on different slices of bread,
coexisting separately until I bite on both sides of the toast:
digging my teeth in deeply to ensure both flavors are distributed in just the right ratio within my mouth then quickly swallowing when the bite is satisfactory.
occasionally I receive solely a taste of peanut butter,
but that does not make it any less of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
the other half is never discarded sandwich because there is not enough of one flavor to taste.
instead, you add just enough jelly for you alone to be pleased.
why look for validation on how much of each you should add,
when you are the one eating it?
