Norman offered some of his clothes to Ray, though he insisted he was fine. He rewore his clothes most of the time anyways.

Ray was yawning all through the school day and didn't show up at lunch. Emma, who didn't know about Isabella or Ray's self-harm, wasn't too concerned. Norman, on the other hand, was.

"Where's Ray?" Norman asked, dropping his backpack on the seat next to him.

"I dunno. Probably reading somewhere, or maybe doing some makeup work from last week." Emma said, chewing a sandwich.

Norman tried to convince himself it was fine, but he had a sinking feeling in his stomach that wouldn't let up, "I going to go check on him." He stood.

Emma was concerned by Norman's expression. He looked so worried, and she didn't know why. Ray didn't think telling Emma would be a good idea. He didn't know if she could handle it, or could keep it a secret.

"What?" Emma questioned. Norman flung him backpack back over his shoulder and started walking away. Emma dropped her food, grabbed her bag and followed after him, "I'm coming, then."

After lots of searching, asking, and going to the office to check, they found that Ray had left the building.

"Where have you BEEN?!"

Another shot of blunt force pierced Ray's side. He was crumpled up on the ground, trying to shield himself. A hand grabbed at his throat and held him on his back. Ray flailed at Isabella's grasp and tried to free himself to no prevail. Her fist collided with his face, then pulled away only to hit him again.

When she finally stopped, Ray was close to passing out, his face bloody. He only stood shakily and dragged himself to his room.

Ray had tried to come home early to make up for not being there yesterday. Clearly, Isabella didn't care. All Ray could do now was try not to cry for fear of stinging his wounds.

He hated this. Isabella was never going to stop. He wished he stayed at Norman's house. His HOME. Ray was never going to have a home again. That time passed for a reason Ray couldn't put his finger on even if he wanted to. The drastic change happened right before his very eyes. Everything was perfect, and then it wasn't. Surely, it couldn't have been something he'd done.

He just wanted it all to be over. All the pain. There was only this- pain.
