A girl slowly stood on the dark brown windowsill looking towards the rocks near the gleaming river in the distance. She already knew about what happened to her younger brother, she heard the heated argument downstairs getting louder and louder over the hour until it silenced completely.
A light breeze entered her room and blew her reddish copper coloured hair around her face, she grimaced as she wiped the strands out of her face again. It was a colour the short, wiry looking girl disliked, as it was neither brown like Alec's nor really red like Aiden's. Depending on how the light hit, it seemed like it might be blonde even. She took a strand in her hand and twirled it around.
The girl then looked past the strand of her at her hand which had patches of slightly different skin colours on them. Her skin was fair, yet a condition made small parts even a tad lighter than the rest of her skin. With a sigh she turned around and faced her room, the bed in the corner faced the door with a small plush toy sitting on the pillow. Her lips formed a ghost of a smile on her face.
The girl then looked down past her waist, to which she had attached two empty sword sheaths with a belt, and let herself drop to the next window below. Avoiding arguments was her specialty which was why she didn't take the stairs. Her small frame made her more agile than her older brother Alec, who wouldn't be able to quietly jump down and leave.
The only one who would be able to keep up with her would probably be Aiden, a skill he learned to avoid his ricocheting flames. The girl can't even remember how much he got burned playing with his fire. She jumped down the last window and picked up pieces of a much quieter conversation involving heavy sighs, then walked away from the old, not wholly wooden house, as the grass and dirt slightly crunched underneath her feet.
She knew the seasons would change soon, afterwards they would be old enough to go and join the adventurers guild. Her feet carried her towards a small shed behind the house. The old door to the shed creaked as she opened it swiftly. The girl walked into the structure where she took two slim blades off of a shelf in the back corner. They were her whole pride and joy as named weapons were hard to come by, yet her father managed to obtain her the "earthen hymns", a set of two short, beautiful swords.
Her mother didn't look the part, but Klara fiercely taught her only daughter she had left how to fight with swords - a beautiful dance that got passed down in her side of the family. Klara was one of the few pathfinders of Xevida, the ones who ventured everywhere, and even if she was a healer, a former saintess, Klara wasn't a woman that needed protection. She was a woman of many professions, the descendant of a swordmaster, at least according to Klara herself. Though none of the children know any further information regarding their grandparents.
Either way, her daughter could probably hold up well against most commissionary monsters of the guild without any trouble by now. The girl walked back out and started marching towards the river bank, passing by multiple trees and a few fields, and straight towards a familiar rock formation. As she got closer the figure on the rocks also got clearer.
His red hair swayed in the wind and wrapped around his body as he held his knees close to his chest, his chin resting on his kneecaps. The young girl thought he looked like an angry ball of red yarn. She didn't approach him fully at first, just close enough to hear him silently sobbing away his sorrow. The river splashed softly against the shore and caused an endless amount of ripples over it's surface, but it wasn't loud enough to drown him out.
The girl then took a few strides forward and kicked a stone towards the rock formation. The rock bounced of with a loud thud, which startled Aiden as his head quickly whipped around towards the noise. It made him lose the grip on the rock below and he began to skid downwards. Aiden tried to find hold with his hands, but to no avail. He stared at his older sister with his eyes opened wide, his mouth formed into a silent oh, then tumbled towards the ground.
