Is this a birthday present for Tobio? Or a late Christmas present to all of you?
From this chapter onward, the series got its rating upgraded to explicit, so beware—Tobio and Reina get a little naughty. I've always thought of them that way, but if you think of them differently, just don't read, I guess, not to spoil what's in your head. I wrote it after finishing the Timeskip series, but it happens still in high school, in their third year. In my humble opinion, it adds a bit more substance to the first few chapters of the Timeskip. After "8i8" sign, there is a fluffy follow-up if you want to read that part only.

It was that magical time of the year, Christmas. Especially in high school, when you're super excited if you finally have a date to go out with on Christmas Eve. You could feel the lovey-dovey atmosphere in school corridors. Even third-years, if they had nothing better to think about, were getting into it, hoping for one last memorable Christmas high-school date, or at least a Christmas hang-out with their friends. But Reina wasn't a part of it. She was too numb from studying and stressed about university exams to celebrate their looming approach. Well, Tobio was too preoccupied with his last chance at Haruko, anyway. The team was determined to go further than last year, and all their free time was dedicated to training. He still remembered to visit his girlfriend's classroom to eat lunch together, but he was so exhausted that it usually ended with him dozing off on her desk. Which he was doing now.

"So..." Reina went with the slightest effort, "do you want to do anything for your birthday?"

He opened one eye to look at her, his head still lying on the desk, and mouthed quietly, "Hotel."

She should have guessed. It's been a while since they had done that. It should be easy for them to get a chance, as Tobio's parents were usually out of the house and working till late, but he spent almost as much time in practice. They were very near getting caught the last time they tried to do something at his house. Thankfully, his parents didn't catch them in the act, as Tobio and Reina at least managed to stop and get dressed. But try to explain to your parents why your girlfriend is in your room at 10 pm just "watching volleyball". Everyone knew what was going on. Tobio couldn't lie to save his life. Seeing the frustration on their son's face, his parents almost seemed sorry that they had come home too early. Reina didn't show up at his house ever since. She said she was too busy, but frankly, she was dying of embarrassment.

So a love hotel it was. They ended up in a place close enough not to waste time on the commute, but far enough to decrease a chance of meeting someone they knew. Although, who knew how many couples thought the same? That's why they were anxious to choose the room quickly. The choice was already limited, everyone was feeling the Christmas spirit, and most of the remaining options seemed too fancy or weird. With little consideration, Tobio clicked on the simplest bed with white sheets. Simple things suited him the most.

Only after they got into the room did they realize it was equipped with more than just a bed. There were leather cuffs strapped to the bed frame, weird accessories displayed on the wall, and a cage in the corner. The pair looked at each other, perplexed.

"Um... are you ok with this room?" Tobio asked.

"Well, it is a bed." All in all, it looked tasteful enough. Elegant even. And Reina was too impatient to release the tension that built up from studying for exams, and the end of high school swiftly approaching. She just craved a little oblivion. She clung to Tobio's body and sucked his lips. His big, muscular hands immediately started to travel on her body. They were getting into it fast, so by the time they moved near the bed, they were already half-naked.
