2 moons later

Searela and Aegon appeared to do little but drink and fuck for the most of the days they were betrothed. Each and every night. For them, it was somewhat of a routine. However, she realised that she would go for extended stretches without seeing Aegon and that she would frequently hear him slipping out of their bed in the middle of the night. And suddenly one day he had completely stopped even talking to her. Although Seara didn't bring it up to him, she had fleeting ideas that he had turned back to his old habits and was venturing the streets of Flea Bottom.

Her and Aemond were growing closer, on the other hand. In the gardens or the library, they were spending a lot of time together. They would converse for hours on end about various topics. She kept her concerns about Aegon to herself, although she was aware that he could have some inkling of them. Seara didn't mind when Helaena joined them in the gardens. She adored Helaena and would always seek her out for solitude. Helaena didn't seem to mind because she was either playing with her new bugs or muttering to herself. Seara wanted to help her whenever she could, but Helaena always said she didn't want her to bear the burden.

Seara was having a quiet day. She talked to Helaena, wrote letters to her mother and brothers, and strolled through the gardens with Aemond. But she hadn't seen Aegon since the morning. It didn't bother her too much because it had been occurring a lot lately. Seara reasoned that he might need some space from her. She tried to put on a brave face when people asked where he was, but she was in pain. She seems to have no idea what she has done. She tries to recall any conversations in which she may have insulted him, but she can't recall anything

"How are you Seara?" On one of their nightly walks, Aemond inquires. The sun has just set for the day, and the moon and stars are shining, creating the illusion that someone has sprinkled a handful of iridescent opal dust against a dark velvet cloak

"Fine, just like every other day you ask Aemond" Seara responds, turning to face him. He raises an eyebrow at her, as if to say he doesn't believe her. She huffs and looks ahead.

"I just, I don't get what I've done wrong I mean I've given him space but it just doesn't make sense" Seara says as they walk to a bench surrounded by rose bushes. Ser Henrik is standing off to the side to give the two some space, she notices behind her shoulder.

"I mean it's Aegon Seara, it's to be expected he says that he's done for good and we believe him I promise you but he will always be that pathetic man that he is. It's not your fault I promise you." Aemond says this while sitting comfortably on the bench. Seara follows him and raises her head to the sky. Aemond looks at her, and she looks back. As a result of the current state of the sky. It shines on his face, making him appear majestic. Seara knows she should feel this way for him, but the way he looks at her as if she's the only thing in the world makes her stomach tingle.

Ser Henrik approaches them and looks at Seara, saying, "Princess, I believe it is time for you to return to your chambers, the hour has grown quite late." Seara stands up and nods. Aemond nods as well, and the three return to their respective chambers. After Aemond has left, she and Ser Henrik go to her chambers. When they arrive, the door is ajar, and she looks at Henrik before entering. She then notices Aegon sitting in a tub in front of the fire. His hair was matted and greasy. A full cup of wine is in his hand. When he hears her footsteps, he turns and smiles

"Ah my beautiful wife" he slurs, swaying his head and scoffs "Have you had fun with my brother?" He questions. Seara frowns and makes her way towards him and sits on a small stool next to the tub

"What are you going on about Aegon?" Seara says, looking him straight in the eyes. Aegon scoffs again and makes his way out of the tub. He puts on a robe and stands in front of her

"I have noticed that you are spending a lot of time with my dear brother and not with your husband. Why is that?" Seara looks at him and shakes her head

"Are you being serious, Aegon? You have not made a single effort to talk to me these past few moons. You go out every night to who knows where and when you do come back you don't even acknowledge me" Seara declares as she pushes past him. Aegon grabs her wrist and pulls her towards him, but Seara simply pulls her hand away and prepares for bed.

As she puts on her nightgown and brushes her hair and makes her way to bed, she can hear him rustling behind her. She despises the fact that Aegon hasn't even given her a direct answer about his rendezvous and completely disregards it. She closes her eyes and lays down in bed as far away from him as she can. She notices a few tears leave her eyes and wonders if Aegon has found someone better than her. Perhaps he reconsidered marrying her after all. Aegon doesn't even try to entice her, which she appreciates. She just hopes that they can figure out what is going on between the two of them.
