Strolling through the tranquil evening, my husband and I were making our way home. Hugging his left arm, we both swayed in the moonlight. The stars sparkled and shimmered as we silently roamed through the quiet streets. The wind whistled through the air as the leaves dropped delicately on the pavement. Laying my head on my husband's shoulder - closing my eyes.

We continued strolling aimlessly to our home, which seemed so far away. A groan left my mouth as my eyes instantly opened. My head snapping behind me I heard my husband curse a few incoherent words. My left shoulder felt in pain as a a man in a black hoodie had bumped my shoulder. The strange shadow had scurried away before I could take a look at his face. Stepping away from me, my husband was ready to chase after that rude man and have a few words.

My husband is usually calm in specific scenarios but when it involves me, he gets consumed by rage or annoyance. He clearly felt irritated that that unusual figure had bumped into me as there was so much space for him to easily walk past us.

"Babe it's fine. It barely hurt." I spoke softly as my hazel eyes found their way to his pitch black orbs that shone with annoyance but immediately softened when they met mine. Stepping forward, he cupped my cheeks and kissed my forehead. My eyes fluttered shut at his cute self. As his lips left my petite forehead, he gazed at my eyes with admiration and compassion. A light shade of rose slowly crept it's way on my cheeks as I soon broke the eye contact.

"You still get nervous even after we've been married for 2 years? And dated for 5 years? Hmm." Nick's voice was laced with humour while I gasped at how he was teasing my blushing figure.

"NICK! ... You're so rude." I slowly looked down, staring at my black high heels, feeling embarrassed he called me out like that. Lifting my face his lips met my soft, pink lips. Now a dark shade of rouge stained my cheeks while the kiss deepened. Nick tug onto my bottom lip, asking permission to enter his tongue. Giving him access his tongue slipped into mine. Our two tongues seemed to be molded as one while Nick stayed in dominance. Leaving me breathless he stepped back as a smirk appeared on his lips.

"You liked that didn't you?" I could sense the teasing behind his words once again. Leaving his embrace I began jogging away from him in my uncomfortable heels.

"Babyyyy... You think you can outrun me? Especially wearing those heels?" Giggling I replied back,

"Come on babe. I doubt you can chase me and I wanna go home." My husband scoffed as he began chasing after me while I tried to prevent myself from meeting the floor. Squealing, he lifted me up effortlessly - bridal style; carrying me home.

Unaware of the set of eyes peering into the couples figure walking away, the couple made their way to thier beautiful home.

My heels met the wooden floor as Nick placed me down gently. Pulling the keys out of his coat pocket, he unlocked the door - letting ourselves feel the embrace of our warm home. Shutting the door, I slipped out of my heels and threw my coat at my husband as I fell on the couch. Nick sighed at my state as he placed our coats on the rack.

"Baby, I'm gonna take a shower, so just relax here and I'll carry you in our bedroom later."

"Hmm ok." Shutting my eyes I could hear his footsteps fading away as I got comfortable on the couch.

After around 5 minutes, my throat began to feel sore and parched. Slowly getting up, I walked into the kitchen and grabbed a glass. Unaware of light footsteps creeping my way, I focused on the cold water that flowed down the tap.

CRASH! The glass fell on the marble floor as I squealed in panic. My mouth was shut by a disgusting hand while his other arm grasped my body in a tight embrace.

Struggling in his embrace, I quickly elbowed him in his gut. Groaning in pain, he stumbled against the kitchen counter while I tried to dash away. I didn't get far until I was met with a sharp pain soaring through my right shoulder.

The vanilla aroma was replaced with a vulgar smell of metallic, maroon blood. My vision began to blur as tears of torture prickled down my rose cheeks. My surroundings began to spin as I met the cold, marble floor. Grunting in pain, the man sat on top of me as a sinister smile was plastered on his face.

Grasping the knife in my shoulder, he began twisting it as I squealed in horror. The pain was unbearable. Immediately, I began grasping for air as I felt 2 strong hands choking my neck. Soon, I was losing consciousness until I heard him. Nick.

"BABE?!"

A sigh of relief escaped my lips as I realized I was no longer alone. Instantly, I shrieked  in agony as the figure pulled out the knife from my right shoulder.

Everything went black. The last thing I heard was Nick screaming as tears streamed down his pale cheeks. The figure had stabbed my throat leaving a pool of red velvet blood near my head.

My eyes fluttered shut as a small, final tear slipped down my cheek as I laid lifeless on the floor.

"Mom, I'm going to see you now."
