He leaned in, getting as close as he could, breaking the distance between us. There was something in the background that I couldn't make out, like a beeping sound. He didn't care, though. He soon closed the gap between our-

"Rae, if you don't get your butt up you'll be sleeping forever!" My mom yelled from downstairs. I groaned, turning off my alarm that's been going off for a while now.

First day of a new school, I mean, how bad can it get? I walked to my bathroom, got my toothbrush, and started brushing.

I had taken a shower the night before, so I decided that I would take another shower when I get back from school.

It was still pretty hot outside since it was August 25th, and there were no uniforms (thank god) I decided to wear a pair of black shorts and an oversized shirt.

According to my friends that go to the school already, they said that there wasn't much of a dress code there and I could honestly care less about what others thought about me.

I went downstairs, grabbing a piece of toast on the way out. I put on my shoes, grab my backpack and I'm on my way to my new school.

I haven't been there, there was an open house tour a month ago or something, but I didn't go because who cares nowadays? I wasn't gonna go by myself, and my parents were at work anyway.

When I was walking, I had forgotten that my neighbor also went to the same high school as me, she's one year younger than me, though.

"Hey! Do you know the way to the high school? I may have kinda forgotten..." I said, running up to her. She looked quite startled when she saw me, but when she realized that I was her neighbor, she calmed down a bit.

"Hm? Oh, hey Rae! Yeah, I know the way, walk with me," She said, with a smile following right after. I smiled back, but there was an awkward silence.

"So, Yuri, You're a sophomore, correct?" I asked, trying to break the awkward tension between us.

"Yep! And this is your first year here, as a Junior right?" I nodded my head. We finally arrived and the silence was finally over.

The walk was about 15 minutes away from my house, which wasn't bad. I took out my schedule and saw that I have P.E. I grunted, walking in the halls with oddly slow people.

After that whole dilemma of walking in the halls, I was in front of my first class.

"Out of all of the things they could've picked, they made me get P.E. for my first class. Gosh, how hard this is gonna be," I said to myself, hoping that nobody was around me, or secretly listening to me while I was talking to myself.

"Move, loser," I heard from behind me, then got a hard shove.

"Who are you to call a loser?" I said while the tall boy looked back at me, looking mad for who knows what, and then rolled his eyes at me as he walked away.

Well, that wasn't an excellent first impression. I shrugged, he seemed like a bad kid anyway.

I walked inside the class to see basketballs being shot by boys who didn't know how to play, because every time they shot the ball, they made an airball.

I saw the girls play volleyball, but the thing was that they sucked at it, miserably. They crossed their thumbs while trying to bump the ball. I think I may have regurgitated my toast from 20 minutes ago of watching that.

I walked up to the teacher, asking what we were doing.

"What's your name?"

"Park Rae, sir," I responded. He nodded, looking at the many papers on his clipboard.
