After the Kalos Crisis, Alain Sycamore was ravaged by guilt.
Being used as a pawn for Team Flare's plans almost destroyed the region Alain called home—and he was too blind to see it. All he cared about was getting stronger to protect those he held dear; a fact which was easily manipulated by those with nefarious intentions.
No one blamed him for what he did. After all, Alain only wanted to protect his loved ones and cure Chespie. He didn't ask to be treated like a pawn on a chessboard...
...But that only made Alain feel like he got off scot-free from something that he shouldn't have...
Emma Shirona was one of the two people that rescued Alain from the flames that threatened to engulf him. Staying in Kalos after her journey, she noticed Alain's descent into endless guilt.
She saved Alain from being engulfed in flames... now she had to save him from the guilt that threatened to consume him from the inside out.
