You can choose whichever animal you are, but I would suggest something with fur and a tail. Heck, choose whatever you want if you wanna use your imagination for some parts.
This will be introduced in, well, the introduction, but I'll say it here, too.
You've been very ill for several months, but the thing is, you don't want to rest. So you keep going, but little do you know you're slowly dying. Then the rest of the story happens :)
