Riley cried out as her arm was yanked backwards behind her. Though he didn't stop there. He continued to push upwards causing her to bend over the couch to try and alleviate the pain.

"ow! ow! ow!," Riley screamed as he kept pulling higher forcing her over the couch onto her tippy toes, "I'm sorry! I'm sorry!"

Despite her apologies, he did not relent. Instead he pulled to the side and with his free hand smacked her ass cheek, causing her to rock harshly into the couch. Riley used her free hand to try and stabilise herself on the couch cushions she didn't notice that he had pulled his pants down.

She didn't even notice till he grabbed her knee length skirt and pulled it above her hips. Riley immediately began to struggle though it was quickly silenced by a painful push on her arm, releasing a whimper from her lips.

He grabbed her hip harshly, kicking out her legs with his foot, before pushing himself in her. Riley cried out, as the first tears began falling. She looked into the corner of the room and she saw her little brother sitting there crying silently as he held his hands over his eyes. Just as she had told him to do every time that this happened with him being present. She made sure he wasn't looking.

Riley laid limp, knowing that struggling any more was futile, it would cause him to smack her harder, or for him to become rougher, so she just let her step-father finish what he started so that she could go console her siblings.

And it didn't take long but it sure was painful.

Once he was finished he pushed down on her back and let her go. He stood up and left, going to his room without another word.

Riley took the time to adjust her arm, giving it a rub to soothe some of the pain. She then dried the tears on her cheeks and pushed herself into a standing position, back onto the lounge room floor. She pulled her skirt back down, feeling way more exposed than before.

She gripped her skirt between her fingers, trying to rub the shakiness away as she slowly stumbled over to her brother. Riley quickly scooped her little brother into her arms and rocked him side to side as she made her way back to their shared room.

She cooed at him quietly, trying to ignore the wetness slipping from the apex of her thighs, the feeling being overly uncomfortable. Riley tried her best to soothe her brother as he latched tightly to her.

She quickly made the way into their room, shutting the door quietly behind her. The first thing she noticed was her little sister sitting in the corner of the room holding their only pillow to her chest.

Tears and snot were running down her cheeks as she looked up at Riley and Sage.

She didn't even hesitate to go over to her and bring her into her lap, hugging both of her siblings with comfort as they expressed their emotions. The very same emotions that her guardians had called them weak and little pussies for one too many times.

"It's okay, it's okay," Riley whispered soothingly to both Thea and Sage as they clung to her. Neither of them moved from their positions, both of them had slowly fallen asleep on her lap, hugging her tightly.

Riley laid back against the wall, her head softly hitting the painted wall, her eyes falling on the kids in front of her.

She softly wrapped the blankets around them, ensuring they were both sleeping comfortably, stroking the hair out of their eyes.

They looked so young, so innocent when they slept. Nothing like they were when they were awake.

She had tried her best to keep them safe. Had been trying for so very long. For so many tiring, painful years she had tried. She had failed them in so many ways. She could see it when they woke, could see the deep etching fear that had clawed its way into every crevice of their small bodies.

Now as she gazed up at the twinkling stars, a small part of her wished it would end. Wished that her step father would go so far to snap her neck, or punch her one too many times that she'd simply stop breathing.

But that bigger part, that part that kept her stupid self alive, that survival instinct kept her breathing. Kept her alive for the sole purpose of ensuring her siblings would be better than her, that they would fulfil their dreams and wishes, even if it meant killing a little part of herself every single day.

Yes, she would destroy herself if it meant saving her siblings.
