Mike's pov

I wake up and groggily get out of bed.
Will. Does his dad always act like that? Why do I care so much? I wish I didn't care so much. But he really is pretty. And I wish I didn't think that either.

"Mike! Hurry up!" Richie yells at my door.
"Okay!" I yell back. I get dressed and go downstairs to get some toast. "Took you long enough." Nancy says at the table. "Yeah yeah."

"Richie, Mike! If you guys don't get here in 30 seconds, We're leaving you, okay? 30 seconds!" Max yells from the front door. I roll my eyes as Richie laughs as he gets his shoes on.

We grab our bikes and ride with the losers club. They really are fun people to hangout with. But Will isn't here. "Is Will not coming today?" I ask. I really wanted to see him. "I don't think so.." Eddie says. Everyone is silent for a few minutes.

We get to school and set our bikes in the bike rack. As I walk in I hear Henry call my name. "Mike!" I walk towards Henry and Troy. "What do you want?" I ask. "So your hanging out with the losers club now?" He asks. Not gonna lie, he is pretty intimidating. "So what? You can bully me or whatever, but it's way better than being with you guys." I say. "Okay, fine. But don't think just cause we were buddies means that I'll go easy on you. I'll treat you like every one of those freaks." God, he's a dick.
He walks away and I walk back to my brother and his friends.

"Was that you breaking up with Henry and Troy? I can't believe it!' Richie says. I laugh slightly, "Shut up."

At lunch, I decide to sit with the losers club. "No way, are you serious?" Max asks. "Yep, saw the whole thing." Richie replied. Beverly and Eleanor are laughing about something, and Stanley and Bill are having their own conversation. And of course, Eddie is admiring Richie.

Some how, the conversation turn to me, and every one is paying close attention.
"Do you like Will?" Dustin asks with a small smirk. My face gets hot, immediately. Who the hell did he know? "W-what? No! Of course not. Why- why would you think that?" Shit. Great job Michael.

"You totally do!" Max replies with excitement. "Do not!" I say nervously, "Do to!" "Do not!" "Do to!" "Do no-" I get cut off by my brother.

"Mike, we all know it's true." He says. "Yeah i-its kinda o-obvious." Bill says, smiling. "And you are terrible at hiding things." Beverly says while Eleanor nods.

I really don't want to admit it. But it seems like now I have to. I take a deep breath, "Okay, fine you got me." I say. Eleanor and Beverly squeal. "So that's why you bullied him?" Lucas asks. "Okay, I didn't bully him. It was just teasing. And I never said anything about him being gay."

Did he feel that way? Now I'm starting to worry if he thought I actually hated him.

"Okay, fair enough." Lucas says. "So are you gonna tell him?" Eleanor asks me. I don't know. Should I tell him? He probably doesn't feel the same way though. Could he?

"I don't know.." I say. "What if he does feel the same way?" I ask. "Oh come on, of course he feels the same way!" Richie says. "It's kinda obvious." Stanley says. "Okay but-" Eddie cuts me off, "No buts! If you like him, and we're pretty sure he like you too, you are going to confess."

Richie starts chuckling. Eddie rolls his eyes, "Now you're just immature!" We all laugh.

Wills pov

I'm glad my mom let me stay home today. Because I really don't feel like having to deal with what they might say. The last thing I want is to be babied. I just hope they will treat me like normal.

I've only gotten out of bed to go to the bathroom, and to get my sketch book and pencils.

I pick up the pencil again, and start drawing something random. I don't even realize what I'm drawing, it's like when I pick up a pencil, my brain goes on airplane mode.

I finish the last details and actually looks at what I drew. Well shit. I drew the one and only, Mike Wheeler. Why can't I get him out of my head? I mean I know why but like, why?

I groan and slide back into my bed.

___

"Will honey, wake up." I open my eyes to see my mom. "Good morning," she says. "Morning." I reply, feeling sluggish from just waking up. "You think your good to go to school today?" She asks. "Yeah." I say. I sit up and my mom tells me to get ready.

I get dressed, and go to the bathroom to brush my teeth and fix my hair. Well at least I'm well rested. I splash water on my face then dry it with a washcloth.

I walk into the kitchen and my mom offers me food but I decline. Even though I barley ate yesterday, I'm not really hungry.

"I can drive you if you want," my mom offers. "No, it's okay." I say and she nods.

I put on my shoes and grab my backpack.
I see Stan, Bill, Eddie, Bev, El, Max, Lucas, and Dustin when I walk out the door. "Byers!" Lucas greets me. "Hey guys," I reply. I grab my bike and walk it towards them. "You ready?" El asks me. "Yeah" I say.

We get to Richie and Mike's house and surprisingly, they're not late. "Hey Will!" Richie says with a smile. "Hey," Mike says after with a warm smile. "Hi guys." I smile back at them.

"Hey, Eddie spaghetti," Richie ruffles Eddie's hair. Eddie giggles, "Don't call me that, Rich."

"Can you guys stop flirting, we need to go!" Dustin says. He's obviously not annoyed but he acts like it. "You can say the same for Stan and Bill," Bev says. "Your one to talk," Stan replies.

We get to school and put our bikes on the bike rack. I see Henry and Troy looking at us. "Aren't you gonna go with them?" I ask Mike. "Nah, we're not friends anymore. Well we never really were friends." Really? So he ditched them to hang out with us? The losers club? "Oh, cool" I didn't really know what else to say.

Actually, I knew exactly what I wanted to say. But if I start talking to him, I won't be able to stop. He's gonna thing I'm obsessed with him. I mean it's kinda true.

The rest of the losers club wandered off. "Hey, are you okay?" He asks with concern. "Huh? Oh- yeah. Yeah I'm fine." He inches closer to me and takes my hand. "Can I look at it?" He asks. I was speechless so I just nodded. He pulls my sleeve up to see the purple and red bruise in the shape of Lonnie's hand.

I wince when he brushed his finger against the bruise. "Sorry.." he says and pulls down my sleeve. "It's okay.." I say.

"Hey, you wanna come to my house after school?" I am astonished. Mike want me to come over? I am surprised but also happy. "We can invite the losers club, if you want." He says. "Yes! Yeah sure." I say excited. "Cool," he smiles at me. "Cool." I smile back.

We are interrupted by the bell.

This is kinda a cliffhanger ig idk
