With a book and a pen in her hand Prachi was checking off the arrangements.
"Stage check... Decoration check... The food check... umm the entrance decoration.. let me go and see", Prachi headed towards the entrance and saw half of the decorations was still pending making her eyes go wide. She turned towards the workers.
"The decoration is still not done. The entrance decoration should be done before everything else. The guest would be coming soon what will they think seeing this half decoration.." She sighed before continuing "I will be coming and checking the entrance decoration again the work should be done by then".
The workers nodded. Prachi went inside and saw one worker was doing his job incorrectly.
"Bhaiya can you move this flowers a little left", the worker nodded and did as Prachi told him to do. "No no bhaiya you moved a liitle too left.. move it slightly towards the right", Again the worker did as Prachi told him to do.
"You moved too much towards the right. Leave it bhaiya you go and do something else I will do this", The worker nodded and left. Prachi climbed the ladder and rearranged the flowers as her liking.
She climbed down and took the book and pen which she kept aside before climbing the ladder to continue what she was doing.
"So the entrance decoration is still not done", She spoke to herself while underlined it and making a note to check on the entrance decoration after few minutes.
"The cake.. shit the cake has still not arrived", Prachi checked the time on her phone. She left out a fake cry and called the cake shop.
On Call
"Hello" Prachi spoked. "Why hasn't the cake reached here when it was supposed to be here half an hour early"
"Sorry Ma'am the cake is on the way but our employe is stuck in traffic so it will take more 10 to 15 minutes to reach at your place" the owner of the cake shop said nervously.
"I want the cake here in 15 minutes.. no excuses", she cut the call furiously.
"Cake", she whispers and underlined it on her notebook. "Next is the engagement ring", she called the jeweler who was supposed to bring the rings today.
On Call
"Hello this is Prachi Mehra", Prachi said forwarding her hand in front of her face to see the time on her watch.
"Prachi Mehra I was just about to call you... should I sent your rings now", He asked.
"Yaa and please send it before 7", Prachi requested.
"Don't worry the rings will reach on time", He said. Prachi cut the call after confirming about the address.
"I will tick of the ring when it arrives next..", her eyes fell on the bowl of haldi which was kept on the table.
"Who kept this bowl of haldi here.. we need this tomorrow not today", Prachi went and picked the bowl she was about to go in the kitchen to keep the bowl when Ranbir entered looking handsome as ever in the light blue kurta.
Prachi had to blink her eyes several time to remove her gaze from him. She went towards him seeing him smiling ears to ears after seeing her.
"Why are you ready so early?" "Why are you still not ready?"
They both asked at the same time. Prachi raise the hand in which she was carrying the book and said.
"I was doing the last minute check up", Ranbir nodded.
"And it's not early it's late", Ranbir showed his watch to her.
"I know the time 5:45.. it's no big deal I will get ready in half an hour", Ranbir laughed at Prachi's confidence of getting ready in half an hour.
"Don't joke Prachi.. you will need atleast 2 hours to get ready so go and get ready cause the guests will be coming soon and it won't look good on your own sister's engagement you are roaming in your cute pajamas", Ranbir pointed at Prachi's pajamas as she rolled her eyes.
"I will get ready after keeping this bowl in the kitchen and checking off the rest of the list", Prachi showed her book and bowl of haldi to Ranbir shrugging her shoulders.
"Give this to me I will keep this in kitchen and see the arrangements, you go and get ready", Ranbir said taking the bowl and book from Prachi's hand. Prachi smiled and thanked him.
"And keep the bowl on the slab of kitchen with the other haldi bowls", Prachi said she was about to go but Ranbir kept the bowl and book aside and slided his hand behind her waist pulling her closer to him.
"W..What are you doing R...Ranbir", Prachi said stammering while bitting her inner cheek to stop herself from smiling idiotly or blushing too much.
"I wanted to ask you something", Ranbir said admiring Prachi's stammer and blush under him.
"I am not sure if I look good in this blue kurta so I wanted someone's opinion. You say how do I look", Ranbir asked while slowly walking Prachi back until her back touched the wall. Prachi gulped but slide her hand on his cheek.
"Hmm is it", Ranbir said moving closer to Prachi's face and nuzzling his nose on her cheek bone. Prachi closer her eyes as Ranbir moved closer to her face. He licked his lips before whispering in her ear.
"Go to your room and get ready doll or else I might do something we both may regret", With that he kissed Prachi below her ear before pushing himself away from Prachi. She opened her eyes but without saying anything she walked upstairs towards her room trying to calm her heartbeat down.
Ranbir bit his lips trying to control his emotions. He took the book and bowl and started going towards the kitchen. Lost in his thought's he over stepped on his own leg.. he manged to not to fall but couldn't save the haldi to fall on the person who just entered the hall.
"O my god. What have you done", Said Abhishek who just came in the house.
"I am so sorry uncle. I didn't do this intentionally", Ranbir mentally cursed himself before running towards the kitchen.
"It's ok Abhi it was by mistake", Pragya who came behind him said while controlling her laugh.
"Seriously Pragya stop laughing. Now I will look all yellow in my own daughters engagement", Abhi said glaring Pragya who was still trying to control her laugh but atlast left out a giggle.
"I am sorry don't be mad. And you will not look all yellow but glow up", Pragya said.
"That boy. If I see him again I will loose it", Abhi whispered to himself before walking towards purab and disha's room.
