Day three till Halloween arrived and he feels worse than ever, he looked forward to see Streber again. He practiced on talking to himself on a mirror back on his house

Trying to gather some of his dignity left and spend it all to this one sentence

𝘊𝘢𝘯 𝘸𝘦 𝘣𝘦 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴?

That's all he have to say, nothing more. Nothing else

Kevin sat there, waiting for Streber to arrive at that specific door. He never thought he could be waiting on a ding that the door commits

He waited

And waited..

And..waited...

...

Still nothing, is he coming? His patience is running low, Kevin's leg started to bounce to occupy on this busy day, customers go in and out. Children scurrying around like insects saying:

'I want candy' or just audible demands that Kevin can't quite understand

He stole some glances at the exit, hoping he actually arrives before his shift ends

"..𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳??"

What if he didn't show up? Will he live in a friendless world?

"mister!"

Streber's the only one that peek Kevin's interest so he's special enough to be his friend, he feels like he's being dramatic

Friends are just around the corner, you're the one who needs to find them

"Kevin!! My bag's overflowing with gums!!"

"huh?"

Someone shook his side, snapping out of his thoughts. Kevin looked at the paper bag he's holding, the chewy yet inedible sweet is almost at the end of the bag

He panicked and closed the gum dispenser, he's losing focus on a bad time. Another customer will be discontent at his own fault

This started to happen when he overthinks, which he'll never do when in his daily joc. He can do this. Said the nerve wreck guy

"I'm sorry, sir. I didn't notice, I'm really sorry"

"hey man, it's allright. I see that you have some things going on in your mind so don't worry"

Kevin felt a wind of relief, this guy gets it. You can't take off you mind to a problem you'll be facing

The candy guy stared at the gums, it's quiet a hassle if he throw this back in. He stared at his customers and hesitated to do it but he did anyway

Kevin gave the overflown bag to him

"woah, can I really accept this? It's not your fault that you were lost in thought"

"accept this as an apology"

The customer was having second thoughts but before he grabbed the bag, he pulled out his wallet. Press some button on the cash register and slid his money in

Did he really payed on his own will

Kevin just watched him, unsure on what to do

"and accept that cash I just put in, as an acceptance to your apology"

"...did you paid for all of this?"

"..no...I just paid the gums I planned to buy.."

The two of them were silent and laughter suddenly bursted at the customer
