Friends or Foes?

The rest of the days went by studying magic, broom riding, intense Nana's lectures, and all the fun stuff.

Throughout the summer, we rode our brooms in the backyard and became quite proficient at it. We planned on trying out for the Quidditch team. I wanted to play as a chaser, and I was practicing for it with a football as the quaffle.

Amidst all of those, Nana had gone to our school to get the paperwork done. Honestly, we weren't sad at all about leaving our 'muggle' school. We would still see some of our friends outside of school, and we told them all that we were going to some posh and snobby boarding school in Scotland. They were happy for us.

A week before going to Hogwarts, Nana tells us that we will be meeting a family.

"They are such nice people, Arthur and Molly. Their kids are also going to Hogwarts; I believe one of them is in the same year as you two. So I arranged a small gathering for you two to meet them. This should be fun."

While we were both getting ready, Mika asked me what subjects I wanted to take.

"Well, we already have seven core classes and flying for the first term, so I will only be taking two electives, Divination and Care for Magical Creatures. What about you? All of them?"

"Unfortunately, I can't take all of them because some of them clash with the other classes. So I am taking care of magical creatures, arithmancy, ancient ruins, and Muggle studies."

"Muggle studies? For what?"

"Easy marks."

Nana took us to 'The Leaky Cauldron' which was a shabby-looking inn.

Upon entering, the strong smell of breakfast wafted to my nose. I looked around and saw wizards of all kinds; some looked fancy, others not quite so.

"Mrs. Hawkins here," a voice rang out in the crowd.

"Ahh, Arthur, how are you? Molly, my dear, how are you? How are the kids' ?"

They chatted for a while, and then perhaps Nana remembered our existence and called us to meet them.

"Meet the kids; this is Mikaylah Bazin, Zenith's daughter. And this is Evelynn Walker, Edith's daughter. Kids meet the Weasleys."

Mika and I just awkwardly stood there and smiled. Mr. Weasley then called one of his kids.

"This is Ronald. He is in the same year as you two. Ron takes Mikaylah and Evelynn to our table. In the meantime, Mrs. Hawkins and I will have a chat," said Mr. Weasley in a jolly manner.

I broke the silence first by asking Ron how Hogwarts was.

"Oh, it's fine. The classes are kind of boring, and the teachers are strict. I reckon you two are starting the third year; why the delay?"

"Well, we didn't actually know that we were wizards until like 4 months ago."

"Bloody hell, really?" Ron looked shocked, and luckily we got to their table.

There we met a girl with thick, bushy hair by the name of Hermoine, a boy with jet-black hair, Harry, and the other Weasley kids.

"Oy, I hear you two are going to Hogwarts this year. third year, I reckon? I am Fred."

"I am George,"

"And we are the biggest pranksters in the history of Hogwarts," they said in unison.

"So if you love fun," Fred said, and George chimed in.

"You know where to find us."

"Wow, for how long did you guys practice this intro?" I asked, which caused the others to burst out laughing. But I was busy trying to differentiate between them.

"Ooh, I like this one, George."

"She's fun, Fred."

"Evelynn Walker and this is Mikaylah Bazin," I introduced ourselves.

Soon, we all started chatting. We got to know that there are seven Weasley children in total. Bill, the eldest, was working as a curse breaker in Gringotts, and Charlie, who was currently studying dragons in Romania, sounded fantastic to me. Percy, who was a seventh-year head boy at Hogwarts; Fred; George; Ron; and lastly, Ginny Weasley, the youngest of them all, who was going to start her second year at Hogwarts.

We told them how we discovered the magical world a few months ago and didn't know much about wizarding schools.

"It is truly fascinating. There is so much to learn. The professors are amazing, and so are the classes. We had this class where-"

"Hermoine, I believe they just wanted to know about the school in general, not the classes," Ron exclaimed, making all of us giggle after seeing how hard Hermoine rolled her eyes.

The Weasley kids here grew up in a wizarding household, whereas Hemoine and Harry grew up in a muggle, similar to us. As we sat at the table debating about the houses, Nana called us. We didn't even realize how much time had passed, and it was almost afternoon. We exchanged addresses and bid farewell to each other.

Walking out of the Leaky Cauldron, Nana asks, "So girls, how was it?"

"It was so good,"

"Super fun,"

"They were so nice,"

"Yes and-" Realizing what Mika and I were doing, we burst out laughing.

"What is so funny?" Nana asked, totally oblivious.

"Nothing Nana. Oh, did you know Harry Potter is super famous?" I said.

"Yes. His parents were friends with your mother. Lily and James. Poor boy has to live with his muggle relatives," Nana sighed. "Are you two excited for Hogwarts?"

We both replied in unison, "YES!"
