PROLOGUE
'Cause I Don't Think That They'd Understand

The sun and the moon, so different and yet the same. Both were in relation to a form of light. The sun produced its own light, whereas the moon reflected the sun's light. And somehow, one could not live without the other.

Director Ranford had given the instructions for the mission. They were clear and concise instructions; no deviant paths, no detours, just do the mission, complete it and get the hell out of dodge. One of the board directors sat in the conference room with Director Ranford. The man read through the files of each agent, only three were chosen, and those three would carry out the mission.

The agents came in the room, each one radiating different auras and energies.

Diane Carle was first. Her blonde hair was tied neatly into a bun, very few strands strayed from their position. She was careful, intelligent and beautiful.

Michael Isak walked in, a bit rougher than Agent Carle, but he had a timid look in his eyes. He was the brains, he was also careful, but also an idiot at some times.

And then there was Agent Lorelai Kit Myers. She was the impulse, the reckless, the brave and the drive. She was the fighter, a true field agent. She took risks no one would even think of, and if they did think of them, they wouldn't try to attempt them. She could hotwire a car with no problem, break into a building without tripping any wires, and manage to walk off a fatal wound. Nonetheless, she was reckless.

All three agents sat down at the rectangle table, all looking in different places. Agent Carle was busy flipping through the files lazily, Agent Isak was looking at his lap, stealing glances at Agent Carle. Agent Myers was looking in different places, first the cover of the file, then her hands that were lightly tapping against the table, then at the directors.

"Agents, you are aware of your mission. Now, your mission, should you choose to accept it... is to stop Leo Tyson from releasing the deadly chemical known as 'Mors Et Interitus'. You will be arriving in Manchester, United Kingdom in four hours. As the three of you know, Mr. Tyson is a very difficult man, and to remove the chemical and to return it back to headquarters will be no easy task. If anyone should be afraid or unwilling to take these chances or risks, speak now." Director Ranford explained.

Agent Carle and Agent Isak shared a knowing look, one Agent Myers had never seen before. Lorelai looked up at the directors and smirked, "I'll grab my leather jacket." She replied. While the board director was confused, Director Ranford gave a nod of approval.

Lorelai quickly walked to retrieve her jacket and moved quickly to the hangar. She sat very uncomfortably in the cockpit of the tiny cargo plane. "Do you even have a pilot's license?" Agent Isak questioned her. He did not know her. If he did, he'd know not to question her or her abilities.

"Oh please, she probably does," Agent Carle started in an obnoxious tone, "she has no friends, no boyfriend..."

"That's because I don't need friends or a boyfriend." Lorelai responded.

"Well what do you want then?" Agent Isak wondered.

"What I want is for the two of you to stop interrogating me and to get this mission done." Lorelai snapped. And thankfully they did. If they hadn't, Lorelai probably would have clocked the two of them.

Lorelai had a strange feeling about this entire mission, like there would be a mole hunt. She was just grateful that the IMF didn't pick this case up first and claim it as their own. Apparently, one of their agents would have been able to handle it, but they pulled back from it.

When they arrived in Manchester, the sky poured rain. While the others hurried into the hotel, Lorelai stood outside still, looking up at the dark clouds and the nearly pitch black night. A small, hidden smile formed on her face. It quickly faded into a straight face, and she walked to her hotel room.

This was the start of a mission. She had chosen to accept it and all of the risks involved. Lorelai kept the spare keys tucked in her jacket pocket, just in case of emergencies. She sipped the coffee from the to-go cup she got from the store and looked out the window. This was going to be a hell of a ride, Lorelai knew that, Agent Carle and Agent Isak knew more than they were letting on.

Lorelai didn't trust either of them. Their files seemed fine, but too perfected for secret agents. But maybe that was just her being paranoid, or maybe it wasn't.

Mission: Hidden Chemical had begun, and there was no pausing.

This will be a shorter act compared to the others.

Lorelai is a stubborn, reckless & impulsive agent and we love it.

Okay, bye!
