"I can't find it."
"Who cares!?"
"I do!"
"It's just a stupid journal, Castiel. Just buy another one."
"You don't understand! I have written things in that journal that I have kept secret for years. Gabriel. What if it falls into the wrong hands?"
"You're over exaggerating. Look, I'm going to wait outside for you. You're not there in ten minutes you're walking home alone."
"Where is it?" Castiel asked himself as he pushed aside books in his locker.
"Where is it?!" Castiel asked himself as he retraced his steps.
"WHERE IS IT?!" Castiel, once again, asked himself as he stepped into the library.
Straight down the corridor. Next to the Poetry section. Sitting in a large round table right in the very middle sat his leather bound journal. With a sigh of relief Castiel lifted it up. Undoing the knot of string that kept the journal closed shut he smiled. Everything seemed normal as far as he could tell. No crude insults, no pages were ripped out, it was all fairly normal-
"What the-?" The corner of the first page was folded. Anger rushed through Castiel's veins. Who dared fold his journal?! With very sloppy hand writing a little sentence in black pen read 'Don't loose your shit.'
Lovely, Castiel thought sarcastically. He looked around the library only to find it empty. Who wrote it? He shrugged and began to put the journal inside his book bag. As he began walking towards the door he began to realizing how rude it was to not say thank you to the stranger who had found, and possibly protected his most priced possession. But how could he? The person didn't leave a name. The first idea that popped into his head was to leave a sticky note with the phrase 'Thank You' written on it neatly. He quickly scribbled the note then put it on the same exact spot where the book sat. Proudly, and satisfied with himself he began walking to the door once more.
It came to no surprise to Castiel that his younger brother Gabriel was sitting on the steps of the school with a bored expression across his face and two lollipops in his mouth. "I thought you were going to leave me?" Castiel asked rather smugly. With a shrug of his shoulders Gabriel stood up straight. "No fun if I'm walking alone. Besides, I don't want to see Michael loose a nut if he finds out I left you alone." Castiel rolled his eyes.
The walk home was uneventful except for Gabriel's constant questions about which candy bar was the best. Hershey's or Kit Kat? News flash: Castiel didn't care.
Castiel unlocked the front door then opened it for Gabriel to step inside. The house was silent and empty. Only Castiel and Gabriel were inside now. Castiel's older siblings, Hannah and Michael, must be at work. Which left the house alone for Castiel and Gabriel. Gabriel being the rebel he was skipped dinner and went straight for dessert. A banana split with extra chocolate sauce and extra sprinkles. It all spelled diabetes in sugar and honey. Castiel grimaced as he saw his brother eat his diabetes bowl greedily. He settle for an instant Ramen soup and Sugar Free Lipton lemon tea. "How can you eat that shit?" Gabriel asked striking up a conversation his lips brown with chocolate syrup. "How can you eat so much sugar?" Castiel countered. Gabriel shrugged and continued eating his ice cream.
The rest of the day was boring for both boys. Nothing was on T.V. and it almost seemed as if they had watched EVERY show Netflix had to offer. Homework was out of the question for Gabriel, and frankly Castiel was too tired to care about Trench Warfare at the moment. Sprawled across the couch, legs entangled, and head on opposite sides Gabriel and Castiel fell asleep. It seemed to have become a routine for them. A very BORING routine. Come home, eat, watch crap t.v. then sleep on the couch and wait for Hannah to scowl at them and order them to go to their rooms.
Needless to say. Castiel had a very boring life.
