"Hey Malea, where were you?" My mom asked as she was at the sink cleaning up her, what im assuming, breakfast mess.

"Uhh.." I tried to hide my wrist behind my back, but my mom must have sensed the hesitation in my answer and whipped her head around, worried.

Damn, i'm getting sick of that emotion. I can handle myself. I don't need anyone's pity.

"Oh my god, what happened?" She asked while drying her hands on the towel next to the sink.

"Nothing, I fell down the stairs. No big deal." As I said that I made my way around the kitchen in search for a Ziploc bag.

She had already stopped me in my tracks and started poking around my wrist and squeezing and moving it. It didn't hurt as bad as it did when it happened. And I can still somewhat move it, so I know its not broken.

"Looks like a minor sprain. There's icepacks already in the freezer. The perks of being a nurse. And that doesn't look like you just fell down the stairs." She stated flatly.

"Mom, think about it. Me. Listening to my phone, not paying attention, going down stairs." While I said that, she nodded in agreement that I am the worlds biggest klutz.

"I actually brought my huge first aid kit, I think there's a wrist brace in it, Let me go check." She said turning on her heel heading to her room.

"Ugh, I guess it could be worse." I said to myself.

"PARTY'S HERE!"

I'd know that voice from anywhere.

Heidi.

I made my way to the living room and long behold my long lost bff was standing there, taking in her surroundings. Speaking of bff, I need to talk to Amy.

"Hey giiiiiirl." Heidi sang while running over to me to give me a hug.

"What it do." I replied with my pimp lean and a smirk before embracing her.

"Girl what you been doin? Getting in fights?" She asked while pointing to my wrist.

"Nah, girl. Just me being me. Fell down some stairs. Well, more like some guy bumped into me."

"Well was he cute? Girl, you know im lookin, O.K?" she said as serious as can be. god I love her.

"Hah, actually he is. VERY CUTE." I said with a wink. "And he just so happens to be living in the condo upstairs." (I assume) I told her while walking away with a wide grin.

"Hey Aunt Missy!" I yelled while running across the living room to give my godmother a hug.

"Hey, Mal." She softly spoke. She was the only person I ever let call me by a nick name other than my dad.

"How was the ride down?" I asked.

"It was okay, It would have been better if your cousin here wasn't snoozing/snoring it up." She said while pointing to Heidi who was already in the kitchen searching through the fridge.

"Don't hate me cause you aint me." She sang back.

Aunt Missy just rolled her eyes then looked back at me.

"Well that's good. Glad your here. " I told her with a smile.

"What'd you do to your wrist Mal?" she asked.

"Ehh, little encounter with a flight of stairs, I did not win." I said with a giggled. The pain had subsided for now, with the help of Advil.

"Oh well dang, That sucks. Could be worse though." she stated with that oh so sweet smile.

We were interrupted by my lovely cousin, who was stuffing her face with what looked like, banana and nutella sandwich? ew.

"Hey, I got these tickets to One Direction's concert tonight. You in?" she asked me while stuffing her face with that disgusting sandwich.

"Uhh sure. But don't hate me if I ask you who the hell One Direction is?" I replied.

"Hey. Watch it Mal." My aunt warned. Shit, I forgot, no swear words for the rest of the week.

"Sorry, slipped!" I replied, while doing that zip it lock it pu it in your pocket gesture.

"Oh, aren't they the one's who sing that song What Makes You Beautiful?" My mom inputted.

"Yeah, they're ahhhmazing." Heidi said with enthusiasm.

"I was jamming to that song earlier today. Its really catchy." My mom stated.

"THEY'RE THE ONES TO BLAME FOR PUTTING ME THROUGH THAT?" I yelled jokingly.

"Like Heidi said. Don't hate me cause you aint me." She said with just as much sass as Heidi had. They were now wrapped in a sideways hug type thing.

"Oh Jeez. Well what time is the concert then, so I can give them a piece of my mind for making me go through that this morning?" I asked Heidi. She looked at her wrist watch and her eyes got big.

"It's 7:00. The show starts at 7:30!" she said running into our shared room. I'm assuming to change into some different clothes. I don't think penguin pajamas will cut it tonight. I was in some skinnies, converse, and my Count Your Blessings tee shirt. (They're a local band back home.) I was good to go.

I was waiting in the doorway to lead outside the condo and I was going to start the car, so I let Heidi know and headed out toe door and down to the elevator.

Ding. Ding.....Ding.

Someone must have gotten on the next floor up. Next thing I know the elevator doors swing open and 5 boys are revealed. They seemed to be out of breath. They must be running late for something.

But what?
