It was late at night when a loud groan was heard inside a dark room. A face barely lit by the light of a computer's screen showed great annoyance.

Sighing, the displeased figure stared in front of them, watching as the collar around a videogame character's neck made a small sound before exploding, detaching the fictional avatar's head from the rest of its body and painting the walls and floor of the small prison cell a vibrant red.

Placing a hand on the mouse right by the machine, the figure pressed a finger on the left button, making the scene change.

The screen turned black, a simple 'Try again?' showing on it.

In a matter of seconds, the game started again right from the beginning. A character creation screen popped up, and as the player proceeded to create yet another character for themselves, a small chuckle was heard.

"I knew Chishiya hated me, but lying about my symbol and convincing Ippei to do the same right during the first round?" The voice sounded amused. "In hindsight, I really should've joined Urumi's group. I had better chances at surviving with her than with someone who had 'enemy' as their relationship status with me."

No further words were spoken for a few minutes, the only sound in the room the one of continuous mouse clicking and sometimes the one of keyboard keys being pressed.

"Alright, I won't screw it up this time." Nearing the cursor to a 'Begin' button on the bottom right corner of the screen, the figure was filled with resolution and still a bit of annoyance.

"The 64th attempt shall be the lucky one. Hopefully."

Click.

Instead of the expected loading screen, a blinding light appeared in front of the player, forcing them to shield their eyes from it.

The 64th attempt was not a lucky one. At all.
