Aonung's Pov
I need to talk to Neteyam but I don't know what to say.
"Maybe I could just be like- Hey Neteyam I am in love with you and that's why I have been avoiding you and I can't handle rejection so I am just going to blurt this all out and leave. Bye"
"You love Neteyam?"
Ah shit.
"What do you want Lo'ak?"
"Did you just say that you're in love with my brother?"
"What I say to myself is none of your business."
"Yes it is if it's about my family"
"Lo'ak, Stay out of my business." I almost yell.
I leave heading towards the side beach. How could I be so stupid. Letting Lo'ak Hear me. What if he tells Neteyam. I don't want him to find out that way. I have to tell him before Lo'ak does.
Once I arrive at the beach I see Jake and Neytiri. They are looking out at the water. As I walk closer I see that they are watching Neteyam, Tuk and Kiri. I walk into the water and over to Neteyam.
"Hey Tey"
"Oh Hey"
"Not happy to see me?"
"No I am it's just- nevermind"
"Hey no tell me"
"Really it's nothing"
"If you don't want to tell me that's fine but can we talk"
"Sure, lets go back to my family's pod"
We walk back to his family's pod in silence. He doesn't even look at me. I know it's probably because I have been avoiding him and being a dick but it still hurts. When we arrive he just sits down facing the wall.
"So what did you want to talk about"
"Something very important so I would like you to look at me"
He dosn't move.
"Neteyam please"
He stays in the same spot
"Neteyam" I say walking over and placing myself between the wall and him. When he finally looks up at me I see tears streaming down his face. Fuck. "Tey, what's wrong I say as I pull his head onto my shoulder and rap my arms around him.
"You hate me."
"What!?"
"You were avoiding me. The one person who I finally thought would stop giving me shit started avoiding me."
"I was avoiding you because I don't know how to tell you that I love you!"
Okay I have to admit that's not how I was planning on telling him, not that I really had a plan.
"W-what?"
"I-I love you Neteyam Sully"
"I love you too"
"You do?"
"Yes of course, I don't just cry over anyone" Neteyam says grabbing my face and kissing me. Fuck he is a good kisser.
"Wait" I say breaking the kiss. "Tey, will you be my boyfriend?"
"Yes Aonung I would love to be your boyfriend"
I kiss him once more before I stand up holding my hand out for him to take. He grabs it and gets up. We walk down to the frond of the island hand in hand. It's getting dark so everybody is inside having dinner. We walk into the water and swim out until we find a sand bank. We lay on the sand. Neteyam places his head on my chest and we slowly drift asleep looking at the stars.
