Cotton Cookie looked high up at the night sky during a blizzard. She knew that somewhere above her head, clouds were moving silently.

The villagers of her hometown were shocked when they heard that Cotton Cookie fell ill. After all, they had grown used to seeing her every day. She was a beacon of hope for the children who were afraid of the dark.

She was an inspiration for the elderly who longed for their youth. She was the reason why everyone looked forward to the coming of winter. It was only natural that everyone worried about her.

Cotton Cookie was resting quietly in bed when she suddenly opened her eyes wide and said, "I need to make my wish. I'm going to the tree."

The doctor, the mayor, and the townspeople all expressed their concern over her sudden decision. Their hearts were filled with worry. But after hearing the words of Cotton Cookie, there was nothing any of them could do but to let her go.

Cotton Cookie walked through the snow, past the empty paths. She saw a single tree standing in the middle of a field of snow. Seven lanterns hung from its branches, shining brightly against the backdrop of the white winter landscape.

Cotton Cookie sat down at the base of the tree. She took out her favorite cane and held it tightly. She lit up the lantern and placed it inside the cane. She then tied a note to the branch of the tree, addressed to the lost one.

She held onto the cane as tight as she could and closed her eyes. She whispered a single wish. "Please let my light reach him."

As the wind blew gently across her face, she waited patiently.

For a long time, nothing happened. Then, slowly, the snow began to fall. And soon, the world was drenched in white. And before she knew it, the snow had melted, and the light of the lantern shone brighter.

But that was alright, because Cotton Cookie knew that her wish had been granted. She had done what she needed to do. Now she could rest.

Cotton Cookie went back home to her village. As the days passed, the villagers started to notice the change in Cotton Cookie's behavior. She was more cheerful than ever. Even the young ones couldn't help but smile when they saw her. Her heart, now that it had been warmed by love, was overflowing with joy.

The children of the village gathered around her eagerly to ask her how she felt. She told them that she didn't feel sick at all. And that was true.

Now, Cotton Cookie visits the same tree every night. She brings a new lantern each time. And every time, she writes a letter to the lost one.

Cotton Cookie never forgets about Sherbet Cookie. She will always wait for him. She'll be waiting until the moment he returns.
