When you walked by Kamila Bryant's room at 6:30 in the morning, all you could hear was the lyrics and beat to Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley playing. It was the only song to get her up in the morning, she always desperately wanted to turn that fucking song off.

Kamila got up and practically pounced on her phone to turn it off. Clicking the button, Kamila sighed as she relished the feeling of this being the last day in her childhood home. If someone would have looked into the room they would see the bare walls that once held posters of bands and dancers, they would see the hardwood of the fall where there used to be a purple fuzzy rug on the side of the bed. They would see a suitcase sitting in the corner of the room with clothes and personal belongings for a road trip that was to come. They would see an almost completely empty room, aside from the furniture, that had been packed away into cardboard boxes that were on their way to the West Coast.

She didn't know how they did it. How she and two other sisters of baseball players were able to earn their own money - without the help from their brothers - for an apartment in California. The trio had dreamed of this day since they could remember and it wasn't like they didn't love their brothers, cause they did. But when they lived in their shadow every waking moment of their lives, they felt tired and neglected. They were finally old enough to do their own thing.

She put her phone down on the empty bedside table and stood up, stretching. She wasn't prepared to talk to Kris that morning but it had to be done. She slid on her slippers and made her way to her brother's bedroom where he had decided to spend the night. He would've been at his house but he wanted to spend some time with his family, mostly Kamila, so he opted to spend the night.

Kamila hesitantly knocked on the door even though she knew he'd be awake. There was no response so she knocked again and this time she earned a "come in" in response. She opened up the door and saw Kris on his floor, packing his bags for the game tonight. She looked around his bedroom to see all his trophies and medals from when he was younger on the shelves. Her family had moved her to Chicago after Kris went off to college and they turned one of the spare rooms into his.

Kris looked up from what he was doing to see his sister aimlessly wandering around the room. "Hey." He was a little surprised that she was the one knocking at his door this early in the morning but he shrugged it off not wanting to complain.

"Hey, Mils, what's up?" She just shrugged at sat on his bed, swinging her feet back in forth.

"I was just wondering if I could come to the game with you tonight?" Kris just nodded his head in an effort to hide his smile. Kamila hadn't asked him to go to the game in what felt like forever, he knew the team would be excited to see her again.

Kamila mentally fist pumped in the air and she, like her brother, just nodded in response. She then patted his shoulder before getting up to leave, "When are we leaving?"

"2? We can go get some food." Kamila gave him a thumbs-up and headed to her room. She had plenty of time to make sure all of her stuff was ready for tonight. She quickly walked back into his room to tell him something but when she did, she saw Kris jumping up in excitement as he pulled his phone out to text someone, "I'm just gonna ignore whatever I just saw. Anyways, I'm taking my car, so I'll just follow behind you."

Kris whipped his head around to face her and cleared his throat, "Sounds good!"

Kamila shook her head in confusion and left again. She walked back into her room to take a shower and get ready for the day.
