...

Daciana was just a normal college student who got low grades and was close to failing, when several months ago, she woke up as a vampire princess.

The clan celebrated her return as though they have been waiting for it their whole lives.

"The princess has finally awaken!"

"Three centuries had passed, but the princess didn't leave us!"

At first she thought she was having a weird dream as a result of not getting enough sleep and skipping her meals. But, that wasn't the case.

Months have passed by and she was still stuck there. However, she was not in a position to complain. Being a vampire princess was the happiest she had ever been in her life. The best food was served without her having to lift a finger, maids attend her whims and she wasn't living under constant pressure of being disowned by her family after barely passing calculus.

She couldn't ask for more.

Although she had a tiring job of signing papers and dealing with opportunists, she was having a great time.

Daciana adjusted quickly with her new environment. It wasn't hard because everything she did gets appreciated by her people. Her reasons were accepted without question. It was the complete opposite from her life as an average person.

But, there is one problem. Vampires don't believe in love. As they have a long lifetime, they tend to focus more on their jobs rather than their family. They have all the time in the world to do anything they want.

This made Daciana anxious. Because, as a former human being, time was precious for her and she can't ignore the foreboding feeling that someday, she will go back to being a college student again.

To relieve her anxiousness, she went out of the castle.

The time seemed to have stopped at halloween because everything she see is in gothic. Leafless trees stood on each side of the pathway and flowers never bloomed, leaving only dried vines crawling on the castle walls.

It's like vampires had not only suck blood but they also suck all the life out of the place.

She strode through the dead garden, her black gown billowing behind her.

She crouched down to touch a dried rose. Like magic, the rose regained back its red color and life spread out from it throughout the whole garden.

Daciana took a step back.

The trees, the vines and the flowers were alive in seconds like a lie.

It was then.

She heard footsteps and when she turned around, a man dressed in a red suit, holding a red umbrella walked towards her in a leisurely manner.

The sight made her feel dizzy. The surroundings seem to blur and that exact moment, Daciana felt her body collapsing on the ground.

"We will await the next soul that will possess the princess' body. Thank you for restoring the life in our world," the man said respectfully.

Before she could lose her consciousness, she murmured to herself, "I guess good things happen only to deceive the heart and the eyes."
