A dark figure was leaping from the branches of a massive tree, going further towards the top. Seathus' movements were light and soundless. His lithe body twisted into strange angles akin to a spring, using the momentum to propel himself upwards.
He swung through the vines with the same skill as monkeys and spun his body in the air, landing squarely on to the next branch.
Reaching the perfect spot, he stopped and perched precariously on a thin branch. Its vibrant green leaves swaying against the wind.
Seathus' eyes focused on something far away.
Tens of meters from his position was a mound of flesh slumbering on a scatter of dried leaves.
Fixing his earpiece, he spoke:
"This is Seathus. I have visual. Over."
A static sound reached his ears and a woman's voice replied:
"Good, Seathus. Salamander is on his way. Team Nitrogen is in position. Make contact in ten seconds. Over."
Without wasting time, Seathus summoned a bow and arrow from his inventory. His weapons appeared in a whirlwind of sparks and fell right into his hands.
Seathus moved to the stable part of the branch, close to its trunk and positioned himself.
He drew the bow with his lean muscles rolling under his skin. In his head, he was counting.
The moment he took aim, a circle appeared on his vision, blinking in red. He adjusted it until the circle turned green.
Then, he released the arrow.
A huge explosion disturbed the forest.
He shouted on his earpice:
"Now!"
Hooded figures jumped out of the bushes and sent a barrage of attacks to their target.
A ghastly wail tore through the chaos as his teammates engaged with the dungeon boss in melee.
Seathus was supporting them from afar. Sending a rain of arrows and jumping from tree to tree to get a better shot. Although, the ones he used were not as destructive as the first one, it managed to break through the tiny gap in the boss' armor, still. Then the rest of the team cooperated to finish their job.
A spiderweb of cracks appeared on its armor. With one last hit of a sledgehammer, the helmet broke to tiny pieces.
All the members took this chance to jump out of the away, expecting Salamander to fulfill his role.
They were not disappointed. Salamander appeared with his rifle and blasted off the head of the dungeon boss in a single blow.
The notification bell rang in Seathus' ears and a white box appeared in front of him.
"Good job, Team Nitrogen."
A smile formed on his face.
---
Sometime later, Seathus and his teammates were standing on the slope of a hill, looking far beyond the forest where a colossal wall stood like an impenetrable barrier.
"We're going to challenge the gate guardian of the third circle tomorrow."
A woman clad in white armor said, her gaze focused on the wall.
"What, why? Why are we in a hurry?"
"It's not like Neorasia will run, right?"
"We should take some time to prepare."
