The Game House

My name is Marcus I live in Detroit Michigan where I grew up. I live in my grandmas house now, keeping it nice and clean for her even though she passed.
Although I myself don't believe in ghosts I believe in spirits and I think she's still with me at that house.
I recently turned 28 and was about to get married to a girl i've been dating for 8 years
But her family won't go unless i go to their house
I obviously want her family there so I got ready and I start driving off to lapeer to see them.
12:00pm
After about a 50 minute drive I pulled into their house
Her mom came out the door welcoming me
"Welcome! Come inside come inside we were just about to start playing"
I walked inside a bit confused to see her family in a circle around the dinner table with a red box in the middle of the table.
"Before we play our family games lets eat"
I sat next to Danielle, my fiance
"Sorry about my family they are just really excited to play their family games"
"Thats fine! I love your family" I was still confused
"My family would play games to celebrate but the last time they got to play was before I was even born"
I started to understand a bit better but before I could ask questions food was placed in front of me and we all started to eat and drink
Everything is escalating fastly I can barely think but as long as i get to eat their amazing cooking.
After a while we all finished eating
"Well if everyone is done I think it's time to start our first game"
While Danielle's mom spoke there were kids running around the table and a couple of men talking about Nickelback and Nelly and how their songs are the best.
"ITS GAME TIME" she yelled
The family stopped and looked at me
The kids went into a room by themselves with toys and tvs with stuff to play with
"Why y'all looking at me like that?"
"Pull a card from the box" Danielle said
I pulled a white card from the box and it read DONKEY KONG
"It says Donkey Kong"
The family stood up and walked into a lit up room like there was a party
I followed inside to see a Arcade and a bunch of Arcade Games
"Heres whats up every game is like a bet you bet in money and win you take what we bet and the same thing other way around simple stuff but the more you win the more money you bet"
I was excited to play now
I started the Donkey Kong machine and started to bet the levels until it looped back to level 1
"Boom i win"
They all put in 25 dollars and I got 150 dollars
Then Danielle pulled a card that said Uno
I started to understand the games
Danielle's dad won and took her 50 and our 25 giving him 175
Her Uncle pulled a card that said Connect 4 with the winning player which was Danielle's Dad
And we would bet on who we thought would win I bet all of my 150 on her dad and so did Danielle's brother everyone else betted on her Uncle
Her dad won and Danielle's brother yelled
"LETS GO DYSON!"
I got 50 dollars as well as Dyson and Danielles brother
"Diego what did I say about calling me by my real name i'm your dad"
"Sorry"
Diego pulled a card that was green that said "Ashes to Ashes"
Diego was older then me and his sister so he probably knows about the games because he froze instantly
He looked upset as well as Danielle's mom
Diego left the room and walked downstairs to the cellar
"Do we follow him down?" I asked
"No this game is just trying to hide till sunset we will just have to bet if he gets found or not" Dyson said
"But how is that fair that would just be a game of luck plus whos going to find him"
"No one and we don't bet 25 on this one we can bet 5 if we want to"
The uncle got up and locked the doors to the basement
The rest of the family slid a piece of paper under the door and covered every window
I bet 10 dollars on him not being found everyone else bet that he would be and put in 30,25,40,and 15
"You can start" The uncle yelled
Dyson pulled a card that said Chess against the winning player
That was me
We both put in 50 and waited for people to bet on us 3 people voted on him and one person bet on me
Unlucky for them I won easily and Danielle the only person that bet on me won as well I was up to 250 dollars
"The rounds almost over" her mom said
"What do you mean?" I asked
"Well after everyone has played we start a new round"
A coo-coo clock confirmed it's now 1pm
