When we made it to the other side I had fallen of the tied stallion and fell so hard onto the ground that I was knocked out.
I awake to me lying lifeless on the frozen ground, I quickly get on my feet and start to look around for the stallion. As I look near a tree I see him eating away the small tufts of grass. I quickly get on my feet and check for any injuries, fortunately for me there weren't any.
As I get back on the stallion I notice that the lake we were on before cracked a lot and it seemed we just made it in the nick of time before the braking of the ice. About an hour and a half later of ridding I notice that we were losing light, I get off the stallion and tie him to a thick branch as I go collect some fire wood.
Once I had a large amount of brown dead twigs and leaves I start to build a fire, I clear out some snow near a tree and build a small log cabin structure then surround that in rocks. I picked up two small rocks and tried lighting the fire, it wouldn't even make a spark a turn around back at the sun and notice that it was about to fall behind the hill, 'Damn it' I say to my self as I hastily try and light the fire 'Come on' I start to get frustrated then Puff I see bright sparks flying gracefully down onto the dead crisp wood as it creates a small bright warm flame.
Five minutes later the fire is in its full furious state that it's roaring in the wind, I shuffle up close enough to the fire that I could feel the bright warmth fill my body like I was a piece of ice melting slowly. I grab some leave that I collected earlier and lay them as a bed. I place my head on the pile of leaves near the fire and slowly drift slowly but swiftly to sleep. As I awake I see the sun just rising over the hill as get on my feet I see some of the snowed ground melting away into water and the fire is now just a pile of damp charcoal.
I walk over to the stallion that is standing near the tree, I pat him on the back signalling him that it's time to go. I push myself up the large horse and ride on. A while after leaving the site I start to notice that the oak forest is ending and leading on to a large meadow.
The meadow was very large with snow everywhere and small patches of grass poking out every like small trees, as we keep on riding threw the meadow the stallion just stopped I don't know why it just stopped. I look over to were the horse was facing and see a beautiful fox with raging orange fur, it looks out of place from the white winter snow from its orange fur. For a minute or two our fright full eyes meet each other it looked just as scared as I was, then in a blink of an eye it ran back behind a large log near and so we keep on riding.
Many hours after riding threw the meadow I start to notice that the meadow was turning into a birch forest it was quite beautiful actually the white thin trees matching the beautiful white snow and the small frozen lake.
A while after riding through the white forest I start to see a large dark oak brown wood farm house with small stable next to it, once we were at the stable I tie the stallion up to the oak fence and make my way to the large farm house I notice that there's a small cottage behind it, when I get closer to the farm house door I hear cutting of wood coming from inside. 'Hello?' I say scared, the cutting noise stops I hear foot steps coming from behind the stack of hay bales.
'Who are you' the man says in a confused voice. He was tall, brown hair, brown eyes, handsome, strong, he was wearing a brown leather tunic with black pants and shoes. 'Who are you!' He says again confidently. 'Alice my names Alice' I'm still frightened for he holding an axe, 'What are you doing here?' He says walking closer to me. 'I have been traveling around trying to find a home' I say with a scratchy voices as I look down at his sharp terrifying axe.
'Oh sorry, just cutting some firewood' he says as he chucks the axe into the wall, as I let out a breath. 'John, John Smith' in a polite voice and pulling out his dusty hand. 'Alice' I say shaking it. 'Well Alice, it seems you have been traveling for a while would you like to come in have some tea, rest?' , 'Yes that would be amazing' reply as we start walking into his small cottage.
The cottage was small inside in had a small oak interior with a stone furnace oak table with chairs, a stair case leading to upstairs, small sitting area and a fire place with many beautiful wood carvings around the house, I sat down on one of the cushioned chairs John came and sat down in front of me.
'So I heard that you have been traveling Alice?' He says in a conserved voice, 'How long?'. 'Yes I have and for a couple of days now I have been in the area I think' I reply. 'You think?'. 'Well all I remember that there was large fire in our village and we were escaping, me and my younger brother we were escaping and a man he, he ran into me and I fell hard onto the floor next thing I know was awake in the middle of know where lying in the snow' I say in a sad voice. 'Wow, that morbid' he says in a surprised voice.
'So you don't know how long you were out for?' He asks. 'Yep I remember nothing' I laugh. 'Have you heard anything from you brother, did you find out if he survived?' 'No I don't unfortunately but I want to find out, you see I'm on a mission and I'm trying to find a new home and find my brother in the mean time'. 'Well then it's sounds like you've had a bad couple of days, why don't you go up stairs and get some rest while I'll put your horse in the stables?'. 'Oh my goodness I can't, this is to mu-', 'Yes I can like I said by the sounds of this you have gone through a rough couple of days it the least I can do is give you time to rest'. 'Alright I give in Ill go rest, thank you for everything' 'It's my pleasure' he says as he walks out side.
When I reached the top of the stairs there was a large room with bed and cabinets tables full of beautiful art, many charcoal sketches of the oak and birch forest even the meadow I was at before there all there. It's amazing all beautiful sketched with fine and amazing detail. I look around and see the amazingly carved dark stained oak bed, wolf carvings on the bed frame, I take of my shoes and lay on the bed drifting slowly to sleep.
I awake in the morning to see the warm sun shinning on my face from the window, I get out of bed and creep my way down stairs to see that John was already up out side cutting more wood. I look over to the large oak table and saw that my breakfast had already been made I sit down and eat some of it, John walks in and looks happy. 'Look who's up and alive' he says in an excited tone. 'No thanks to you' I nod my head while smiling. 'This is delicious, what is it?' I ask with curiosity. 'Thanks it's chicken' he replies back.
'So John Smith I have told you about me, now I would like to know about you'. 'Well I was born in the village near by, my mother died during child birth my father died in a fire so I was left with my little sister at the age of 16 and she was 10' he said casually. 'Wow morbid to' I say shocked.
'So you know how you said your village burnt down'. 'Yes why?' I replied. 'It wasn't the village of Northiea was it?' He asked. 'Yes it was'. 'Because that village burnt down three years ago, believe me I was there with my sister!' He said confused. 'No this can't be happening I swear I saw it like it was yesterday!'. 'You must have hit your head really hard, look how about tomorrow we go into the near by tow and try and see if your brother is there he might be able to clarify some things for you or you might start remembering, ok?' He asked. 'Ok' I say shocked and confused.
