We never talked about what happened to us. We wanted peace so that is what we got.

Cancer. The doctor said it was cancer. Stage four lung cancer.
Annora had two months. I kept calm for her. I gave her happiness till the day she died.
I let her do everything she wanted. We went to the park, and I held her hand for hours just watching the wildlife. She went peacefully.
I snapped.
When I went home from the hospital I just snapped. I threw chairs, flipped tables smashed dishes, and tore clothes. I was blinded by anger and tears. I reached over and grabbed another thing to through. Before I threw I looked to see what it was.

I looked at it for a long time. I was mesmerized by it. I took one last breath and put it in my pocket.
I will never be happy. I was broken and whenever I thought I could make it, I just got pulled down again.
I took a cab to the building I used to work in before the kidnapping. I got out slowly and paid the driver. I saw the very alleyway I was taken away from.
As I walked into the dark corridor on the street. I saw the very man that gave me comfort the day Jacob died. He looked at me almost like he was disappointed.
I handed him a clean crisp hundred dollar bill.
"Here. You know what I want." I whispered.
He kept silent and handed the object that kept my grieving numb. The thing that felt like warmth and human contact.
A needle.
A bag.
I stared down at it. I didn't hesitate. I Injected the liquid into my arm. The sharp sting of the needle was nostalgic and comforting. As the liquid set into my system, the man grabbed my neck and pushed me to the ground. I knew what to do.
I blacked out immediately.
I woke up to the ever so familiar cold dark room. I felt the concrete wall on my back and the chains once again on my wrists.
I looked up to see Hector staring right into my eyes.
He gave me a large crooked smile.
"Welcome back, Adam."
