A hot and heavy breath that reeked of illness brushed the senses of a young Nobella. Hidden in a crack of the city wall, her mother coughed. A hand brushed through Nobella's unwashed, rats' nest of hair. The hand of her mother, "Bella, I promise things will get better. We are going to get enough coin, and we'll buy that homestead we've always wanted. We just need more time." Little Bella was silent. Her mother stood and threw on a hood, "I'll be back, darling." And then she left. Nobella was alone again.

Hours came and went; her mother was still missing. Afraid of what that meant, little Bella armed herself with a dagger and left that crack in the wall. Hearing bells and a man hollering. "Justice will be served! Justice will come to these sinners!"

Nobella pushed through the crowd, she desperately started screaming for her mother. After struggling her way to the front of the crowd, the lever cracked. The floor of the gallows fell. Her mother left for good this time. Nobella trembled, she was shattered and couldn't help it. She felt out of place, as she was amidst a crowd of cheering civilians and poor little Nobella was the only one distraught.

A hand was placed upon the little girl's back, "Do not worry my child. You're going to be okay." Nobella looked at the source of the booming voice and found a rather large man. An Orcish police chief.

Years passed; in those years the police chief took little Nobella into the city's orphanage. The conditions were less than good, but at least I actually got a bed, Nobella thought to themselves. The wood smells rotten, and the rats crawled through the cracks. Religious symbols plastered the walls, Titania wouldn't let the poor children know they were alone. Titania of the summer court, Little Bella thought to themselves, weird. Nobella found herself staring at the walls of her cage, or she found herself working on her next tinker project. She found that tinkering was something to do to pass the time, she wasn't great at it, but her Air Genasi blood made it easy to make the little gadgets wind powered. She stayed away from the other children, Nobella believed they were unkind to her. Well, which was true. The young followers of Titania hated our young Genasi. At this age, around fourteen, Nobella already made enemies of the cult of Titania by not being indoctrinated in the cult. The other kids would insult and assault her, and when she cried the priests would berate her. "Young Sinner, let your dishonest tears flow in vain."

Nobella couldn't take it anymore, next time, I'll fucking show them. When the gang of assaulters came around, they began their horrid routine. Little Bella hid scrap metal from her superiors, she clenched the metal tighter and tighter her knuckles began to bleed due to the rugged scrap. When the human child crushed one of Nobella's projects, she took the scrap metal and stabbed into his foot. A scream rang through the orphanage, it was bloody. Nobella's hands were covered in blood. The group of assaulters quickly pulled her arms and her hair. One of them, a Tiefling child, wrapped his hand in her hair and dragged her outside to a cliff. Nobella screamed for help, she yelled for anyone, but yet again: she was alone. When they were far from the orphanage, from any help. The Tiefling child threw Nobella off the edge.
