You know that feeling that you get when you're happy, yet you're worried that you did something that you shouldn't because that's how I feel right now. Sitting in the backseat in between Nolan and his Beta I felt that what I said to my parents was the right thing to say, but at the same time I felt that it was the wrong thing. I don't know why but I feel as I've betrayed my family even though they cared for no one but themselves.

I sat waiting for us to make it to our resting point for the night. We've been driving for what seems like days but in reality has only been a few hours but with my mind eating me alive I feel like I've sat in a human sandwich for ever.

"We're almost to the gas station. When we get there use the restroom and get whatever you need to get you through tomorrow afternoon. We won't be stopping for a while." Nolan said to me, he was looking at some paperwork that he had brought with him, not even talking to me.

I don't know why I thought that was such a bad thing, but I just felt like it was rude. Shouldn't you want to jump your mate as soon as you get the chance to?

"Okay." Short and simple. My answer. I relaxed back into the seat listening to the breathing of everyone in the car along with the occasional shuffle of papers. I don't know how long I sat like that but I don't think it was very long.

We soon arrived to a gas station which was pretty busy for two in the morning, but then again people travel at night for a job, so I guess it's understandable.

The man who was driving the SUV pulled next to a gas pump which Nolan took as his time to get out of the car and stretch. "Come on Katharine." Nolan said in a more blunt way, he stuck his hand out to me so I wouldn't fall out of the car while trying to get out. Nolan and I walked hand and hand into the station which I will admit wasn't too shabby looking.

When Nolan opened the door for me I was surrounded by the smell of coffee and gas station hot dogs. I looked around trying to find the sign that would lead us to the bathrooms.

"Come on the bathrooms are this way." Nolan said walking to my right while tugging at my arm. I followed him into a little corner at the back of the station that smelt like sewer.

"I'll be waiting outside the door when you get finished." I nodded my head at him and walked inside the bathroom. It wasn't dirty or anything, just old. It seemed like they remodeled the rest of the station but some how forgot about the bathrooms.

It was quite small, only able to accommodate at max three people, but still had some room to move and do you business.

I looked at myself in the mirror, my hair was knotted and I had dry mascara and eyeliner around my eyes from where I rubbed them. No wonder why Nolan hasn't looked at me, I looked like I just woke up from an intense hangover.

I turned the faucet on warm-sticking my hand under to make sure the water wouldn't burn my face. Cupping my hands together I collected some water wiping it onto my face trying to remove my messed up makeup.

When I finally cleaned myself up to a presentable fashion I had to stand there. Just looking at myself in the mirror. "Katharine, everything you've waited for, don't mess it up." I said to myself, with one final look I walked out of the bathroom more confident than I was when in walked in.

"Ready?" I turned to my side to see Nolan leaning on the wall with his arms crossed over his chest. He wore a tight top which caused his muscles to bulge.

I didn't know I was staring until he came over to me and took my hand into his. His hand was soft but yet rough, it was the rough that showed that he worked outside a lot.

He led us outside to the SUV where the other men stood. Guarding the SUV like someone important was going in there. Well I guess Nolan was important.

I got into the car's backseat with Nolan on one side and his Beta on the other. I was back in the werewolf sandwich, with three pieces of bread. This was going to be a long drive back to Nolan's pack, "I'd get some shut eye." Nolan said to me staring at me, I nodded and got comfortable. He wrapped his arm around me and I scooted closer, his body heat warming me instantly.
