The Secret Mate

Chapter 5

I looked at Alpha Sean in anger, he said something and of course it was about me misbehaving and my father got his underwear in a wad.The two men directed me towards a car that was sitting in front of the building. Assuming that I was headed back to my aunts house to get my ass chewed out by my father.

I nodded my head knowing that if I didn't obey I wouldn't hear the end of it. I grabbed Nolan's hand and started walking with him in tow receiving dirty looks from Alpha Sean and anyone that we passed. Not really sure why, but at that moment I didn't care.

"Who is he?" My father's beta asked me grabbing my arm before I got into the car. "My mate, No-Trystan." I said yanking my arm away from the man. I sat in the back seat with Nolan next to me and Alpha Sean in the front with my father's beta. They men along with my father are or will be furious with me for going against my father's family tradition, which in my opinion is sick and cruel.

The car ride was long and seemed to take forever, and not to mention I felt claustrophobic during the whole ride. I look out the window watching the city pass by me in blur, the city lights were the brightest things I've seen in my life, and I'm not kidding. Living in a pack house that ended up being like a prison, never seeing anything besides the four gray walls that you sat behind.

I could feel tons of power radiating off every person in the car, but Alpha Sean and Nolan were both fighting for the dominance. Hopefully Nolan wouldn't reveal himself to the wolf community right at the moment. I continued to stare out of the SUV's tinted windows, when I felt a warmth touch my right hand. I looked to my right to see Nolan staring straight ahead like the dominating Alpha he was, but his hand was in mine.

I tightened the hold on him, thinking that if he was always by my side I could feel like I wasn't in my prison cell only being aloud daylight every so often. I felt secure with him and I have only known this wolf for the past hour. I've had previous boyfriends and each were my father's choosing whether I liked him or not and each ended up finding their mate and leaving me, which I was fine with in all honesty.

A sudden shift in mood brought me out of my thoughts. I saw Nolan becoming even more stiff then a rock, and Alpha Sean and the Beta becoming more stiff as well. but not as much as Nolan. I don't know if it had anything to do with being on land that wasn't familiar or what, but if he tensed anymore .he would get hemorrhoids all over his body from straining. (If that's even possible)

I saw my uncles patrol team following close behind us, and a few in front of us forming a formation that would protect us if a rouge passed onto the territory, but I bet we could handle ourselves, especially Nolan. Not long after we entered the land the community started to come into view. I knew that we wouldn't be going to the small house that my family and I were staying in, I knew we were going to the pack house and to the Alpha's office so I can get yelled at. 

The community was still lit up. It was about ten thirty at night and most of the time the families are asleep and preparing for the next days activities, but here I guess not. We pulled up to the large home to see my father, mother, aunt, uncle, and some others standing at the steps waiting for our arrival. My father's beta stopped the car and got out with Alpha Sean in tow. 

"Ah, Alpha Sean it's so pleasant to see you again." My father said in a 'happy' voice, which was totally fake. I could tell by his stance and how stiff he was that my father wasn't at all happy with me. I don't know what he got told, but I know that it wasn't something that he wanted to hear. 

After acknowledging Alpha Sean he turned towards the car, sticking his pointer finger up and moving it back and forth giving the motion of 'come here' with a stern look on his face. I took a deap breath in and let it out again. He may be my father and what ever he was told is probably a lie, but I still can't help but be afraid of his rage. 

I got out of the car shutting the door behind me. I took a quick glance at my father before looking down at my shoes. "You worthless piece of shit, why did you reject Alpha Sean, huh?" He said walking towards me anger building more and more every second. "Probably the only man who will ever have interest in you and you just blew it." He said standing right in front of me. I gulped feeling my hands get clammy. 

"Answer me!" He yelled grabbing my chin so I could look him in the eye, which just made me want to pee my pants right there in front of everyone. I took my eyes off of him to look at my family standing behind him, to scared to do anything. They knew never intervene with my father when he's mad. "Don't look at them, they can't do anything to save you." He said with a slight smart ass smirk. 

I heard a low growl come from behind me making me take my eyes off my father and vise versa. Every ones heads turned towards the growl only to see a dark eyed Nolan. "Who are you? You don't have the power to growl at me, do you know who I am?" Asked my father walking up to Nolan who stood a good five inches taller than my father. "I do know who you are and I don't care about your title. You don't disrespect or touch Katharine that way." Nolan's voice was deeper than earlier tonight, which only meant one thing. His wolf. I'm surprised that he has so much control over his wolf, most males would have killed another male wolf for even looking at their mate. 

"You never answered my question, who are you." My father said tempting Nolan even more, which would only make his wolf madder.

"I'm Katharine's mate. Trystan Scotts." Nolan said getting every ones attention then and even earning some gasps. I knew if he wasn't careful he would say who he really was.

Thank you for waiting, here is a small filler chapter for what is about to kind of start the story. Your finding out more and more about what Katharine's dad thinks of her. 

I also wanted to say that I am a high school student who gets homework every night and for just one subject takes two hours and on top of that I am an athlete so I wanted to atleast let y'all know that is why I may have a week or two gap in between my chapters, but I have such big plans for this book so hang in there.
