we back😜🎵
Joan sat behind her desk, extremely exhausted from the long week she had. It was Thursday and she was wishing the week was over. She still had a few more hours ahead but her long awaited lunch break was coming up. All she wanted was a coffee and a buttered croissant.
In all honesty, she could leave whenever she want. She took over as CEO when her father, Shane Symmons, decided that it was time to step down from the company. That made Joan the one in charge of the multi-million dollar company, Genie Records. The record label developed in Shane's mid 20's and has been thriving ever since.
That didn't stop Joan from being tired, though. It was her 2nd week into the job and she found it redundant already. She wanted to do something more with the job. She knew she could but she always had her mental blocks that wouldn't allow her to live out her dreams.
Once the clock struck 12:00, Joan grabbed her coat and her phone and fled the office. She hummed on her short elevator ride and all the way to her BMW. Once she was in her car, her phone rung and she saw the contact name, Jaime, she rolled her eyes and reluctantly answered the phone.
"What?" She answered. It would be an understatement to say that her brother has been getting on her nerves a lot. He asks her for things he doesn't need and she feels like shes encouraging him to be a literal bum.
"Sym, I need some money." Jaime told her. No hello, no how was your day.
"For what now, Jai?" Joan threw a slight tantrum. She hates when he asks for money, specifically.
"I just need it." Jaime said hurriedly.
"How much, though? Twenty?" Joan asked. She could spare a Jackson.
"More like two-hundred."
"Hell no. You can't tell me what the money's for and you're asking for way too much." Joan shook her head.
"Jo, please. I need it."
"For what, Jaime? Why would you need so much money? You can't even tell me why you need and it's because you really don't need that shit." Joan started getting frustrated. "You're not getting any money from me."
Joan hung up on him because he wouldn't come forth with information. He had to reason to need $200 on such short notice. It was ridiculous to her.
It didn't take her long to get to her destination. Most people think Starbuck's coffee is sufficient for their caffeine necessities but Joan always stuck with her local coffee shop. LA Coffee Beans is where she found herself. for her lunch break. She waited in line until it was her turn to order.
She ordered the same thing she always gets; Caramel Ribbon Crunch.
Once she paid, she stood in the waiting area for her coffee. There wasn't many people so she figured her drink would be made soon.
"Caramel Crunch for Jo!" A waiter called out and placed the drink on the table.
Joan leaned forward to claim her drink when it seemed as if someone else was trying to do the same. When Joan looked up, her eyes were met with the most beautiful brown orbs she'd ever seen. He captivated her and Joan was confused as to why she even felt this way. She snapped out of it when she realized he was still trying to take her drink.
"This is my coffee." The man insisted, adding more force to get the cup out of her grip.
"Okay," Was all Joan uttered. She wasn't going to argue, they would just have to make her another one.
