Everything was indeed okay.
"Joh, leave me the hell alone. I might have a fractured hip but i'm not incapable of getting a banana." Shyanna rolled her eyes at Johnir's smothering.
Ever since her fall, which was exactly 5 weeks ago, he's been right up underneath her. Shy hasn't been able to exhale without him inhaling her carbon dioxide. She appreciates him caring but he was getting to be too much.
"I know, mom. But, you're clumsy and I don't want anything else to happen to you." He sighed.
"Oh my God. It wasn't even that big of a deal. I mopped the floors and forgot I mopped them five minutes later and had a little slip. I'm not gonna die." She threw her arms up and let them fall to her side.
"Look, Ma, I really don't wanna argue. That could've been your head, and then what?" He posed and she didn't respond. "And I got Pops coming home tomorrow. He's not gonna be too happy to see you with a walker at 45. I know you don't wanna see his ass at all."
Two months had rolled around quicker than expected. Johnir set up the guest bedroom for him to stay in his mother's house. Shantel didn't say much about his reunion. She usually doesn't talk about her emotions but Johnir could tell that she was excited but also nervous for him to come back.
"Watch your mouth, Amarj, just 'cause i broke my shit don't mean I won't hit you in yours." She warned, giving him a look.
"Damn, my whole middle name?"
Upon the second cuss word flowing out his mouth, Shyanna slapped him across his chest.
"Aw, ma! I'm sorry, I'm sorry." He repeated rubbing against his chest to relieve the pain.
"That's what I thought."
Johnir helps his mother sitting down and getting situated.
"Are you sure you're fine with Pops staying here?" Johnir asked for what felt like the twentieth time.
"Yes, son. He's my husband and I still love him."
It's been years since they actually spoke. Johnir thinks it's because she doesn't want anything to do with him but it's quite the opposite.
It physically made Shyanna sick to see her soulmate in prison. Or to talk to him knowing there was always limited time to tell him the important things. It drove her away from him and left everyone to believe that their marriage is over.
"Alright, ma. I'm gonna head out and check on the store and I'll be out for a while working. Let me know if you need anything, aight?" Johnir told her and she nodded, paying him no mind anymore.
Johnir made his way to his mother's store. He had a lot on his plate with his mother being injured, his father coming home tomorrow, his mom's store, and Shantel's music. Needless to say he was busy. So much so, he put everything with Joan on the back burner. He didn't do it on purpose but he couldn't keep up with everything going on.
Jaime has been going above and beyond since Shyanna was injured and Johnir could tell that he had the motivation to turn his life around. Johnir officially dropped the charges against him and he genuinely wanted better for the young man. He refused to ruin his life at such a young age.
Johnir briefly stopped at the store and everything seemed to be in order. He left almost immediately because he had a meeting with producers for his sister.
