𝗜𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗲 was only 7 when the fire happened. Yet it plagued her mind constantly, almost every day. Hearing the painful screams of those she loved as her older sister grabbed her hand and ran them out of the house. She wasn't sure what happened but the minute she got out of the house, everything turned black and the next thing she remembered was her sister and brother next to her in the hospital. She could still hear the screams and feel the heat of the fire on her skin whenever she wasn't focused on something else and her mind was blank. She had to stay in the hospital for about two weeks due to her lungs but once she was discharged, everything felt different. She hadn't really had time to process the events of the fire and how her mom and sister were dead. She knew Cora got her out but when she woke up, Cora wasn't there so there was only one other option. The hale family had fallen apart, most of them dead and the others left to deal with the pain.
Liam Dunbar had felt alone for most of his life. His mom was a hard working woman and was never really home, leaving him home alone with his dad. Liam and his dad fought constantly, his dad being under the influence of alcohol due to losing his job and taking his anger out on his son. It started off with words, mostly telling liam how useless he was and how everything was his fault. Then it turned to liam being shoved to the floor and beaten. It only ended because Sylvia came home early one day and found her husband on top of her son, hitting him repeatedly for no reason. Now Marco Dunbar sat in a prison cell and wouldn't be getting out anytime soon. They left when Liam was 11 and now he was in a new town, with a new dad, and a new life. He had a feeling he wouldn't be lonely much longer but the town of beacon hills often didn't allow those type of feelings to come true.
Liam and Isabella were the epitome of love at first sight. The minute their eyes met on the first day of school when Liam didn't have a pencil and had to ask the brunette haired girl in front of him, they fell in love with each other. Their hands met as they exchanged the pencil and Liam would be lying if he said he didn't have butterflies in his stomach. The two immediately became friends and would talk constantly. Isabella didn't know why but the minute she met Liam it felt like all of her problems disappeared and she finally knew how to fix her family.
