Despite my dramatic exit, I have no idea how I managed to open a portal, much less where it would even lead. The portal travel wasn't instant either, it was almost like I entered a gateway realm, where I floated in space for a few moments while it decided where to drop me. Eventually, I felt a rush of air as I began to plummet to an unknown destination.

I hit the ground with a hard thud, knocking the wind out of me a bit and presumably leaving me with some bruises. I could feel grass tickling the sides of my cheeks and my back, a warm and salty breeze washing over my entire body.

The grass on my back made me realize I was still in an extremely thin and... breezy hospital gown. I quickly sat up and tried to find something to cover myself more with, but nothing to be had.

In my searching, however, I noticed a tall, white spire in the distance, that I immediately recognized as the capital building of Newtopia.

"Damn, they rebuilt awfully quick..." I thought to myself, and started towards the city. It ended up being a lot closer than I expected, just mostly covered by a small hill. At the top of that hill, I could see nearly the entire city, and it looked almost identical as the day we left, save for the statue of Andrias, which was half destroyed, and the other half vandalized.

That seemed a little rash, as although he did end up being evil, how he was before was a respectable and cheerful leader, and in the end he killed himself to save earth. Seems pretty noble to me.

In my deep thought, I almost didn't realize what was transpiring below me at the city gate. Two portals, colored red and blue, materialized. As expected, Anne and Sasha both strode through their respective portals.

Sasha had already switched into her classic cloak and had her heron swords on her hips. Anne, on the other hand, had no noticeable weapon on her person, simply the clothes she had when she was in the hospital.

Without any indicator as to how, I was able to hear what they were saying as if I was right next to them, even at the top of the hill.

"I'm telling you, I don't know what it is she plans to do, but she must've come here first. It just makes the most sense." Anne explained. Seems they had a lot more control over their portals than I did, I had no intention of ending up here.

Sasha shrugged and replied, "I guess it makes sense, but what could she want to do here? We don't even know what she plans to do."

"That's what we're here to-" My connection to them was cut off by them walking through the gates of the city. It seems that this power was tied to having line of sight.

Once I ensured they were far enough into the city, I slid down the hill and quietly stalked into the city. I needed to get some supplies before they were able to warn everyone.

My first stop was an armor shop, I needed something more than literal cloth that barely covered me.

I looked around every corner as I walked to my destination, opting to take alleyways and small paths to try to remain hidden. As I rounded another corner, I saw the noticeable wooden sign hanging from a metal rod that had a helmet on it. The armor shop. Well, one of them.

I slinked in and I immediately knew this was going to be harder than expected. I knew the newt that ran the shop, and he wasn't exactly known for keeping conversations concise.
