Jack woke up late again, no longer having a headache. He looks to his side to see that Lav is gone. Strolling out of the bedroom, he then notices that Lav is at the table, playing cards by himself.
"Thank god you're already awake. Listen, you're going to have to buy dinner tonight. I have to go-"
Lav held up a finger.
"Jack, you haven't cooked in a while. I don't really have a lot of money right now because I've been buying dinner almost every day now except for yesterday and the day before. You have to cook tonight."
Jack huffed.
"Are you serious?? I thought I just cooked yesterday."
"Jack, we had cereal for dinner last night. You did not cook."
"How about we have cereal again? Quick, easy, and we have 6 cereals to choose from. That's plenty of choices and I know for a fact that you didn't eat Cinnamon Swirls yesterday. Why don't we just eat that?"
Lav sighed.
"Jack, come on now. I know I don't have the best diet but even I won't eat cereal 3 nights in a row for dinner of all meals. And I know for sure that you don't want to either."
Jack exhales for a long time before throwing his hands up in defeat.
"Fine. Green bean casserole it is. That doesn't take long."
"We don't have green beans."
"I'll find some then!" Jack says, throwing his hands up again before storming out.

Jack wanders around a half-abandoned grocery store in search of green beans, cream of mushroom soup, french onions, and milk. Searching high and low, he struggles.

Lav hears a knock at the door. Opening it cautiously, he's face-to-face with the mailman.
"Oh uh hi."
They exchange mail and then Lav waves before slamming the door.
Bills.
Bills.
Another bill for electricity. They don't even live at the house they're billing them for anymore.
And then a letter catches his interest.
"To: Jack
From: Rhodochrosite"
Opening the letter instantly, he reads the entire thing.

"Dear, Jack-"
Wandering through the aisles, he sighs in a bit of frustration.
"-your sudden disappearance has caused me a bit of worry-"
Grabbing the first can in-front of him, he throws the can to the ground as he realizes it is corn.
"-so I hope that you receive this letter.-"
He pushes the corn cans straight to the ground in one giant swoop to find the green beans behind them.
"-The reason I am sending you this-"
He snatches two cans and jogs to the next aisle.
"-is that I must inform you of something-"
He scoops up the can of soup and, running to the other end of the shelf, he grabs the french onions.
"-that I can bare no longer to hide from you.-"
He searches high and low for milk. Nowhere to be found so far. He's opening multiple fridges in search of any type of milk.
"-Although I have only known you for a week or so-"
He grabs a milk and runs out of the store past the store worker, who looks to be very... ill. Maybe even deceased.
"-I feel a connection to you I have never felt for another person.-"
He starts running home, holding the items in his arms.
"Jack,-"
He's running down the sidewalk, the house directly in his vision.
"- I -"
He's running up the steps to the door.
"- love -"
The door opens and Lavrentie crumples the letter. Jack is breathing heavily, catching his breath from his run.

"Oh, hey, the mail arrived. What mail did you destroy?"
"Just a payment for the electricity. Paid it last week though so we don't have to worry bout it."
"Oh, alright."
Jack sets the ingredients on the counter.
Lavrentie looks at the address on the letter while Jack's facing away.

The diner.

Hm.

The diner...

He'll go there as soon as possible.
