Petra sniffles as she places the house phone on the receiver. She just got a call from the Behavioral Analysis Unit of the FBI. Evidently, while on his case, Spencer inhaled a poison and his brain was getting fuzzy. Spencer begged the Tech Analyst to call her to get to his hospital.

Her trembling hand touched her lips. Petra's breath hitched as she inhaled. Only one word was heard in the empty room.

"Spence..."

~~~
Spencer laid in the hospital in Virginia. He groaned as he awoke in the white room and looked to his side. He blinked as his vision returned, only to be stunned. His teammate, Derek Morgan, sat at the side of the bed flipping through a magazine that laid beside Spencer's leg.
With a cup of Jello.
He scrunched his eyebrows and said, "Can I get one?"
Derek laughed and continued eating his spoonful.
~~~

Petra ran to the front desk of the multi-story hospital. The calm secretary looked up and said, "Yes, ma'am?"

Petra looked around, wondering of Spencer was, by some miracle, nearby. "Y-Yes, I'm here for Doctor Spencer Reid?"

The lady zcrunchrd her eyebrows and thought. She shook her blonde head and replied, "We don't gave any doctors that work here by that name."

Petra cleared her throat, running a hand nervously through her red hair. "N-No, he's a patient."

The blonde secretary's widened her brown eyes and said, "Oh! I'm sorry."

She clicked on her computer and typed in the doctor's name into the search engine. A pop came from the computer as Petra blinked her hazel eyes. Worry filled Petra's bloodstream as she watch the lady look over the file. "He is on level two in room 204."

Petra ran like a bullet towards the staircase four meters to her left and bounded up the steps. I looked at the doors and saw that 204 was down the hall to my right and ran. An African American male left the room and walked by. He offered the small girl a toothy smile and moved past. Petra attempted to smile in return, but failed in the long run. He placed a hand on her fragile shoulder and squeezed lightly, then continued by.

The red-head quickly threw herself into the doorway of Spencer's room and panted. He looked up from the window behind him. Shock was written on the his face as he gasped, "P-Petra?"

She sighed sadly and said, "I thought you were dead..."

She stepped towards his bed, unknowingly sitting where Derek Morgan was just moments ago. Petra placed a hand in his and pressed her forehead to his. He closed his eyes in return and asked, "What are you doing here?"

She gulped and said, "Your tech analyst called me. She said you kept asking for me."

Spencer nodded and said, "It makes sense. I was fearing death and asked for the one thing that could help me keep my sanity."

Petra blinked and said, "What?"

He gave a cheesy grin and said, "You."

Petra laughed and rested her head on the pillow, her bangs tickling Spencer's neck. "I'm glad you are okay, Spence."

He squeezed the hazel-eyed girl's hand lightly and said, "I am too."

"What is..."

They both froze and slowly turned their head towards the voice. The same African american man that smiled at Prtra stood with three cups of Jello and two spoons in one of his large hands. His eyes darted back and forth from the couple's molded hands to each of their eyes. His brown eyes blinked as he stood in shock.

"Mind telling me what's going on, pretty boy?" He finally sputtered out.

Petra sat back in her chair, gave a huge grin and said, "Have a seat, friend!"

Derek gawked at the girl and did as he was told. Petra grinned, finally relieved of her worry, knowing that Spencer was okay. Spencer felt relief, glad that he asked for her and not his mother. Who knows how that would have ended. Now he just has to deal with Derek's constant teasing about Petra.

Derek leaned back after handing Petra and Spencer each a cup of Jello. Petra reached into her pocket and grabbed her Swiss Army knife and cut open the package. She fiddled with the piece of metal, flipped out a spoon and shifted her eyes shyly to the strong agent. Derek lifted his eyebrows and said, "You don't want me to go get you one?"

She shook her head and said, "I'm good. After all, they did make these things for emergencies!"

Her white teeth shined and Derek laughed. He looked to Spencer who was eating his Jello as well and wondered if the young man would introduce the two.

When Spencer didn't reply, Derek made a motion to introduce himself to the odd girl. Petra suddenly snapped her head towards the man and said, with a dead expression, "Do you think that they sell frosted lemonade in the cafeteria?"

Derek felt shock spread through this veins. How did these two get together? He simply shook his head and said, "Not that I know of. There's a Chik-Fil-A around the corner though!"

She leaped out her seat and grabbed his hands. Her hazel eyes were wide with awe as she pleaded, "Will you take me there?!"

Spencer stiffled a laugh and said, "I'll give you a few dollars, Petra."

Petra gasped and darted towards the man, leaving Derek stunned in his chair. Spencer reached towards the table to his wallet and grabbed it. He pulled out ten dollars and a slip of paper. He handed both to the strange girl, and she quickly read it. She squealed happily and hugged him. "Thank you so much, Spence!"

She ran towards Derek, and made him yelp in shock. For a small girl, she was pretty strong, strong enough to yank the well-built man out of his seat. Agent Morgan was dragged to the car garage. Derek was panting, which surprised the youthful woman.

She finally released him as they reached a red Honda Civic. She gestured him towards the passenger door and slipped in the driver seat. He gently opened the door and said, "I'm Derek Morgan. I work with Spencer."

Petra giggled and said, "I know."

He raised an eyebrow as she began to pull her car out of the garage. "You do?"

She nodded and the flickered her right blinker on. "Spence talks about you a lot. He always talks about how much of a macho man you are. He also says that you have a soft spot and that he's glad to call you his friend."

Derek smiled and noticed how sweet this girl was, spilling the truth like that on him. She drove carefully towards the Chik-Fil-A that she had actually seen on her way to the hospital. She smiled sadly and said, "Is it okay if I say a few things?"

Derek nodded and said, "That's a part of my job, to listen."

Petra sounded a quiet laugh and said, "Alright."

She sighed as she turned into the left turn lane and stopped at the red traffic light. "I know I scare people at first. I see myself as a stranger person."

She looked at Morgan who had a concerned face. She punched his arm lightly and said, "Don't give me that look!"

He laughed and rubbed his arm discreetly.

She laughed and said, "I didn't say I wasn't happy with who I am. As a matter of fact, I'm more than proud!"

The light turned green and said, "I just wish people could be more accepting, ya know?"

Derek smiled, understanding what she meant. Many people have felt like an outsider, even himself. To see that she was proud of it made him realize how much confidence the young woman had. Sure, Agent Morgan was charastmatic and had some pride, but even he had his moments of doubt. He had his moments of insecurity. To see that someone wasn't afraid made him want to be more confident in himself.

That's all he could be grateful for in that moment.
