*ring*

That was it; the last bell of my senior year. School would be over for awhile, now.

The bus ride home was energetic for most, though I simply sat by the window, headphones in ears, cutting off the world around me. About thirty minutes later, I stood, collected my books, and left.

"Mom, I'm home!" I yelled up he stairway as I passed, unsure as for whether or not she was even home.

"Honey, I got you a cupcake to celebrate your last day of high school!" She announced, waltzing into the kitchen.

"Thank you, Mom!"I said, gratefully accepting the cupcake.

I soon left the room, jogging up the stairs to my room where I could watch TV and be alone. I sat there eating the delicious cupcake and wondering what to do over the summer.

Then came a cheerful call from down stairs,

"Honey. I just got off the phone with your aunt. We are going to camp in their campground this summer for three weeks." 'No!' I thought. I hate camping! It is horrible.

"Okay" I called down, trying to hide my disappointment.

"We leave in three days"Mom called, causing me to slump down even further into my pillows.

This summer was ruined.
