The sound of kids screaming on the bus are enough to get anybody annoyed. The bus driver yelled at the kids so that they would calm down. Everybody on the bus is excited to go to camp. The bus drove down the highway on the way to camp. Only two of the kids weren't yelling. They felt tired hearing the screaming. They were both seated on the seat a back of the bus. They both were wearing their camp T-shirts on. They had the letters "Camp Wild" on them. One of them is called Tyson. He is 13 and has curly light brown hair. He is wearing camo colored shorts with his red t-shirt. He is normally very excited when going to a new place. The screams of the other kids on the bus have left him discouraged. He didn't want to be in a cabin with other kids who might get into trouble. His sister Phoebe sat next to him. She's a year younger than Tyson and has long braided light brown hair. She was wearing a lime colored T-shirt of the camp the bus is heading to. She had her head leaning against the window. Phoebe hoped that she wouldn't have to be stuck in a cabin where everybody except her would get into trouble. "When is all the screaming going to stop?" Phoebe asked. She got her head straight up and covered her ears.
"I wish I knew. I think that we might be only well behaved kids at camp. All of the others seem to be yelling." Tyson said as he also covered his ears. "Not everybody!" Somebody said trying to talk over the yelling. Tyson looked around. It was hard to see anybody else in the bus that wasn't covering their ears. The bus slowed down and turned into a left turn lane. "There's the road to the camp!" One child yelled excitedly. The kids seated at the left of the bus looked out of their windows. "Settle down please!" The bus driver shouted. "I'm trying to concentrate. And it's pretty hard driving having you kids yelling in the bus!" The kids seated in the bus whispered to each other. They were now scared of the driver's bellowing voce. Tyson and Phoebe took their hands off their ears. They both were happy that the kids were now calm and not making a lot of loud yelling. After ten cars have passed going the other way, the driver carefully steered the bus down the road to the camp. The road was paved like the highway. Tyson saw a road sign. He and Phoebe stared at this sign. It said "Pine road". Phoebe unfolded a map she was holding in her hand. "I don't know is this is a good time of looking at a map. Besides, the bus driver knows his way around this place." Tyson commented. "How would you know? This is your first time coming to camp." Phoebe said as she held the whole map in front of her. "It is also your first time too. So don't blame yourself. You're only scared that we would get lost or something bad would happen." Tyson teasingly whispered to her. Phoebe stuck her tongue at him and looked at the map. "Well this road should lead to another road to the camp. I only hope that the bus won't be driving on a small dirt road." Phoebe said as she pointed at the different spots on the map.
"What are we going to be doing at camp during this summer?" Tyson queried, thinking about camp. "We could be swimming in the lake, we could be hiking, or we could be doing some fun competitions at this camp." Phoebe guessed. "Have you heard anything about this camp? This is our first time going to camp." Tyson asked taking a glance at the map. "It is a fun place." The same voice said from a seat in front of them. Two hands could be seen at the back of the seat in front of them. Tyson and Phoebe looked up and saw a boy looking at them. He had freckles on both his cheeks, and blond-brownish kind of hair. "I overheard you two saying that you're new coming to camp." He spoke. The boy held out his hand is said "My name is Nate. What's yours?" He introduced himself. "Hi, my name is Tyson. My baby sister Phoebe is sitting next to me." Tyson answered. "I'm not a baby!" Phoebe said feeling teased. Two more hands were seen on the back of the seat. Another boy lifted himself up to look at the newcomers. He is an African American with a baseball cap with the camp's logo on it. "Hi, I was the kid who tried to tell you that not everybody screams on the bus. My name is Fred." He said holding out his hand. Phoebe and Tyson shook both of their hands. "You two are going to be having the time of your lives. This camp is so great that I had to beg to my parents to go back." Fred claimed with a smile. "Yeah, there's hiking, canoe paddling, swimming, and all sorts of fun stuff. Even the food tastes terrific." Nate said. "I already want to see this camp already!" Phoebe adduced, feeling excited and nervous at the same time. Nate looked at the map that Phoebe was holding and said "Why do you need a map? The bus driver knows his way around this place very well." He said with a serious look on his face. "I am keeping it in case of an emergency. If a new bus driver is driving us back home, maybe I can help out by giving directions." Phoebe answered while trying not to yell back at him. She held the map in front of her face. "Don't worry about her. She is worried. Phoebe is only a little scared." Tyson assured. Nate and Fred looked at each other and looked back at Tyson. "Do you know what the fun part of this camp is?" Fred asked. "No." Tyson answered. "Well, we get to walk to camp and see some wild animals. They don't bother us most of the time. All they do is ignore us as if we were rocks." Nate said.
