mollie mccloud had never felt more paranoid and terrified about the outside world. after rick's death, she thought leaving with carl for a while would be good-for both of them. things back home were getting too stressful, on almost all fronts, and being put in the middle of a giant argument between everyone you loved for one of them to then die and everyone blame it on each other? mollie felt like she was near her breaking point. but, a month on the road with only one encounter with a familiar face had done some good. and then, they discovered the walker mask on the body of a person they'd just killed, thinking they were a walker.
now with carl concussed from the short fight with the mask wearing person, and a thick fog settling in over the county they found themselves in, mollie had to be at the top of her game. she was terrified, paranoid, and already exhausted by the time she discovered the body hanging in the tree. missing a head and lower body, mollie couldn't imagine what had done this to someone other than a living human, though even that felt impossible. still, it felt there was more to this, something else, but the impending walker herd and sudden visitor stops mollie's thoughts in her tracks.
mollie can't think straight, not like this. too worried about carl's health and the possibility of them making it home alive, she can't give too much thought to their visitor. she can only hope that her flippant acceptance of a stranger doesn't get her and carl killed.

i'm back :)))))))) and so is mollie!!!
so this is the first sequel i've ever done and it's gonna be pretty different from the romanticist, but that's what i think makes this worth writing. i don't wanna spoil anything but i think y'all can tell this one is MUCH darker in tone than the original, and i'm honestly so excited to write darker stuff
as a big horror nerd it's honestly a little weird that so far i've really only written romance but we're switching it up in tr2!!! also yes, if you haven't gotten it yet, this is a sequel!!!!! if you haven't read the romanticist, go read it first!!!
