We were standing at the top of a very high cliff overlooking a lake and weren't looking forward to what the challenge was going to be.
"Okay, today's challenge is threefold. Your first task is to jump off this 1,000-foot high cliff and into the lake," Chris explained with excitement in his voice.
"Piece of cake," Bridgette said as if it was nothing.
"If you look down, you will see two target areas. The wider area represents the part of the lake we have stocked with psychotic man-eating sharks. Inside the outer part is the safe zone. That is your target area which we're pretty sure is shark-free," Chris explained.
"Excuse me?" Leshawna raised an eyebrow.
"For each of the members from your team that jumps and survives, there will be a crate of supplies waiting below. Inside of the crate are supplies that you'll need for the second part of the challenge. In that part, you will be building a hot tub. The team with the best one gets to have a wicked hot tub party tonight. At the same time, the losing team will be sending home their first camper. Now let's see, Killer Bass, you're up first," Chris announced.
"So, who is up first?" Eva asked.
"Ladies first," Ducan grinned.
"Fine, I'll. It's no big deal. Just insane cliff dive into a circle of angry sharks," Bridgette commented and then dived into the lake.
I was actually impressed to see she made a perfect dive into the safe zone.
That motivated her teammate Tyler to dive, but he hit a buoy. Following after, he was Geoff and the buff girl Eva and following after, she was the punk named Ducan, who landed just fine.
However, their teammate Dj was too scared to jump because of the heights. So he ended up wearing a chicken hat making Heather laugh in response. The person after him was an odd boy named Ezekiel, who dived and went twirling into the safe zone.
Next up was Harold, who jumped and landed in the worst possible way in a split position and was lucky he didn't break anything, but he had to be in pain.
Courtney through decided not to jump, saying that she doubted that nine from our team probably wouldn't jump.
I rolled my eyes in annoyance at her assumption, thinking that. That is how you lose challenges if you don't do it, just because you feel the other team can't beat your record.
Chris looked at his clipboard and realized two people hadn't jumped yet. After a while of complaining, Kaite and Sadie manage to get Chris to allow Izzy to swap teams so they could be on the same team. Both girls then happily jumped into the water together.
"Okay, so that is nine jumpers and two chickens from the Killer Bass. If Screaming Gophers can beat that, we will throw in a pull cart to put your crates on," Chris informed.
"Nice. Okay, guys, who up first?" Trent asked, looking at the team.
The team was dead silent. I looked over at the cliff, thinking about going first until I was pulled out of my thoughts.
"I'm sorry. There is no way I'm doing this," Heather said with her arms crossed.
"Why not?" Beth asked.
"Hello, we're on national tv. I will get my hair wet; not happening," Heather stated.
"You're kidding, right?" Gwen asked with an eyebrow raised.
"If she is not doing it. I'm not doing it," Lindsay agreed.
"Oh, your doing," Leshawna demanded.
"Says who?" Heather glared in anger.
